I've been using Simba for about 6 months now and every time I try to run any script I get these errors:
[Error] C:\Simba\Includes\SRL/SRL/core/simba.simba(340:14): Unknown identifier '' at line 339
[Error] C:\Simba\Includes\SRL/SRL/core/text.simba(687:13): Unknown identifier 'UpChars' at line 686
Any help? Is something wrong with Simba or am I doing something wrong, because these popped up out of nowhere over night..
I also sometimes get this error:
SMART Initialized.
Loaded: Server 65, Members: True, Signed: True, Super Detail: False.
Error: Exception: Access violation at line 101
The following DTMs were not freed: [SRL - Lamp bitmap, 1]
The following bitmaps were not freed: [SRL - Mod bitmap, SRL - Admin bitmap, SRL - Flag bitmap]

have you tried updating all the plugins? (SRL/SPS)
if not i'd try that
if that fails, search the forum for an answer, maybe someone is having the same problem, as far as i can tell your scripts out of date :p

I updated all the plugins and the scripts I'm using are from the forum and up to date. Such as P1nky's Pest Controller and Riyyi's Range Guilder. But nothing works.

You must have updated your java, you need java 6 for Simba to work. People get the access violation error because of this, usually.

I updated to Java 7, what Java do you have?
Make sure to get the Java 6 32 bit JDK version. Like said this error is usually associated with the version of Java you're running, and you're running 7 so that's what is causing the error.

So even though I'm a 64 bit system, I should download both 32 bit and 64 bit?

Okay. Do you think you could possible find me a link to the Java I need to download because I can't find exactly what I need and I've been looking for over an hour already, please? If not, tell me do I need JDK 32 bit and JRE 6? Is that all or do I need more?

EDIT: you dnt need both JDK & JRE just one
First of all - make sure you have the latest Simba.
And just to confirm - you are downloading the Java 6 32bit aren't you?

If your POSITIVE your a 64bit user then download the 64 bit pack.. if that doesn't work download the 32bit.. or hell download both!

Oo, I think I found the problem.. I'm getting that .dll error, when I try to download JDK or JRE 6 to C:\Program Files (x86) I get this error:
"Error 1713. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
Any help?

You might try running Simba as a administrator. Aswell the problem with the DLL might be fixed by downloading this DLL: http://bit.ly/3REWa2 and then you wanna put it both in Simba folder, and Windows32.
Good luck!

I downloaded the DLL and followed the instructions on how and where to put them (Windows/System folder) and I still get the same error and it won't let me download Java JDK or JRE 6.

But I also noticed one thing, the DLL file mine's set so you open with notepad so it has the notepad symbol, on other computer's it's set with a tool symbol. Could this be the problem?

Okay first off, thank you for everybody who helped me with this problem!
Now for everybody out there who might have the same problem, here's how you solve it:
For the msvcr71.dll error, refer to this guide: http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58812 (http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58812&highlight=msvcr71.dll)
Now if your having problems running a script always remember to "Run as Administrator"
