There is no doubt in my mind that Simba DID NOT do it. I just made this thread so that people will think twice before using powerbot. - I apologize if this thread seems like a trend thing where people just complain and point fingers.

haha most of the scripts are - but the only two scripts I used came out of the repository.


Its my fault for not checking the scripts, but after scanning with a few different anti viruses.. i'm not keylogged so...

I'm going to look at the scripts and see if they have "getpass" in them

Nope. They went closed source after the bot nuke. They recommend downloaded non-compiled, open source scripts though.

Your fault for being hacked, you really can't blame powerbot as you don't have real proof about it, also maybe i'm "lucky" becuase i've been using Rare and Pb for the combat/agil/thieving scripts mostly, and have yet to get "hacked".

At the end of the day is your own fault anyways.

Also, seems that "optimus" will hit on july, so people should stick to Simba anyways.

All this thread needs is an explanation as to how Powerbot could/couldn't have hacked the account, nothing more. Finger-pointers need to be gagged and/or head-shot.

Oh, look.. it's this thread again. It had nothing to do with the client, and honestly either just decompile it, or look harder, because that client source gets posted all over the place on different RS Cheating Sites, and every time it comes back clean. You know why you got hacked? Because you're a moron. Probably allowing java to execute within your browser, among a million other things putting you at risk. None of which have anything to do with RSBot.

The only possible thing I can think of, is were you attempting to run a script in developer mode? The script could have potentially been malicious, which is exactly why RSBot advises users not to use dev mode unless they have a pretty good idea of what you're doing.

Sorry for the ranting and raving, but my god these threads are starting to piss me off. "Powerbot hax0rz me" "Epicbot stole my bank!" "Rarebot is a virus!", etc etc. I wonder if these same people know that as recently as just a few months back, there was a case of a user uploading a malicious script here. There are assholes all over the RS cheating scene, and they're certainly not just exclusive to PB.

The source for all these big time public injection clients are out there. I advise you to look around for it. You could even go as far as to install some of these clients with wireshark to monitor the packets that are being sent/received. You'll see for yourself that the RSBot client had nothing to do with this. It's far more likely that you were somehow hit with a RAT, Java-Driveby,

i could prove this to you if you want, iv been using pb since 2007-2008, got many 99's with it. I was not hacked once...

I had something similiar happen with RuneDream: I was powerchopping when it out of sudden took all my money (10m) out of the pouch and decided to drop it and continue powerchopping, stopped the bot picked it up and never used RuneDream again.

I'd say you were infected with a RAT or keylogger rather than this being something to do with PB, that's just my assumption. I use both PB and Simba and haven't had problems from either though so they're both trusted by me. The only one I'd be weary of is EpicBot, solely because their site was defaced, and their database has been released on a few blackhat communities to be cracked.

Just like the kids that got "hacked by simba" and it turns out they searched for a Soul Wars script on pastebin that sends your details to the maker. I doubt it was there client, probably an infected script. Sucks you got hacked though.

He got hacked for a mistake, and it's annoying to see a bunch of people jump on him. It's his fault, and learning by example is the best way to go, even if it sucks.
