I am working on a Jadinko hunter script, and i am new to scripting, so therefore my knowledge on this matter is limited. So im asking for help.

What would be the best way to identify a marasamaw trap that has shut, and like wise one the has wilted (collapsed).

I've heard ddtms are good for identifying 3d main screen items. Otherwise, you could use colors and up text.

Hmm.. Ill have to look up a tut for ddtms.. I dont really wanna use color cuz it would be hard to single out a unique color on them and i feel color is slow cuz there is usually something else it checks out too with the same color. But thanks for the tips footy :)

Yeah that's a good question. I think I would count colors for the wilted and closed traps and a DTM for the active trap. Closed looks like it has many more green points than a wilted, no?

Normal looks larger than the first two so you could use the length of a TPA to determine thatone (FindColorsTolerance, TPAToATPAEx, If Length(ATPA[#]) > ### then it's the normal one)

Are the UpTexts different between Wilted and Closed?

Yeah, my suggestion would be to detect the existence of the trap using CTS 2 and TPAs. Then once you have found the trap make a box around it and count the colours inside that box to determine what state it is in.

I dont really know if they are different sizes, it might just be the angle of the view when i took the screen shots, and yea the uptexts are different.

Are the UpTexts different between all 3, or only the wilted+closed?

If they're all different you could just use the UpText. If two are the same and the normal is bigger (looks a bit bigger to me), use color count + UpText.

Also how "new to scripting" are you?

Different for all three, so i guess uptext would be a good option. And this would be my first working script...
