View Full Version : Making bots communicate?

How would one go about doing this? It would most likely be used for bot-bot convos, but I could do some other stuff to. Any ideas? I was thinking upload a bots status to a web page and get the two SIMBA processes to constantly read and write on the web page. Not sure how well that would go though.

this is weird bots talking to botss
maby through pms
Very possible, iirc putonajonny had a script which wrote the status on a website.

Of course, not in public. It's just another method of antiban, we need as many methods as possible if jagged actually did ramp up their anti-bot stuff.

I guess it's time to learn HTML/PHP then. Any other ways to do this? For now, it would just be two of my own processes doing it, making this public is a whole nother story.
If you are running the bots on same computer just use file functions.
By bot status do you mean like being able to log in to a website and being shown the live debug of the bot(s) you have running and you'd be able to restart the script no matter what computer you're on like a bot manager?
Cuz that would be awesome :D

Just to give you an idea of what I've seen in the past.. I've seen scripts that actually have multiple functionality, lets say mining iron and coal, and when said in whisper by so and so 'coal' it would switch to coal and 'iron' it would switch to iron... I'm not sure where this went to (it obviously died) but we've had very creative systems back in the days

@gratz That sounds neat! So basically, you could PM your bot a message to change how it ran?
@BMW by this I mean print some sort of chat debug, and if bot_one_awaiting_medsage was true on this file, bot two would read the file, realise bot one is awaiting a response, and attempt to PM bot 1 based on the last message. I have no idea how these tiny details would actually be, but that's just an example.
@riwu Thanks for the suggestion, I will definitely use this instead of web page reading.
@Everyone Would there be a way to hookup my script to clever bot? So should bot one be awaiting a response, bot two enters not ones last message into cleverbot and outputs the response. This would be much easier then writing my own AI.

Nope, I've never been there. I know it's a hitting site like PB, but nothing else.

lol this is funny that you are tlking about this. i have actually gotten sorta far in my own bot to bot communication script. working with kyleinkman on it. good luck if you plan on creating your own

Really? Well good luck to you too! I've still got a lot to learn about SIMBA and pascal before I can make a fully-functianable bot-bot talker.

yea, it was something that wasn't around long..
also the old stats as you can have multiple accounts in one script that take turns everytime it breaks etc. (MSI for example) well when they get stuck in a random it turns that bot off, so if you have 5 bots, 1 got stuck, it only rotates the 4 bots now.. well the old stats you could go in and "check a box" to enable bots, so while 1 ran, you could fix the other and just turn it back on without start/stopping the script, that's how we used to get week long progress reports, lol

It's kinda risky to make them talk, because each bot can be tracked to another and ten ou could get all the accounts banned. I'd rather not talk at all unless someone tries to talk to me.

This ^^^ Just need that good ol fashioned Text document!
I think you could do this with sockets...

Would be interesting to see how that works out. Maybe just common chat phrases that speak to legit players like: "hey how you doing" and when they respond "good thanks you?" it just goes "good"
We could start up a group that responds to direct messages to the bot like leosleep would back in the rsc cheating days?
