As far as I know, Final Cut Pro 7 only explicitly supports AVC-Intra. So perhaps using a converter might make it work? (I wouldn't know how to go about this)

*AVC-Intra is in the same realm of HD as AVCHD, I think (source (http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/193/883164)).
*Also, they are both "H.264 compliant codecs" - (source (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CCIQFjAA&url=ftp%3A%2F%2Fftp.panasonic.com%2Fpub%2FPanasoni c%2FDrivers%2FPBTS%2Fpapers%2FAVCIntra-FAQs.pdf&ei=oyJeUL_IHaHliAL_0YCIDA&usg=AFQjCNE37uKkwTADdP3oj2BVxLbC2Vfgig&sig2=o4yVYN_uYzsh06DBGUjSyA)).

However I did find this too:
"Yes. AVCHD and AVCintra are completely different formats. AVCHD cannot come in native, it must be converted to ProRes. But with FCP 7, AVCIntra can come in native...as you see. Why is a question I ask, as there are no AVCIntra sequence settings, you must use ProRes. Faster Import, for sure, but render time in the end is longer. - here (http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/920650)

As we know, AVCHD format is not well to use on Mac OS or FCP software, for Final Cut editing, the best format is Apple prores codec MOV format, so what we need to do is to convert LX7 AVCHD MTS files to prores codec (http://www.pavtube.com/hd-video-converter-mac/), and then we can use LX7 recorded video smoothly in FCP 7/X on Mac Mountain without problems.
