Hello guys, I present to you this small little thread to input everything you have learned in runescape that connects to real life. Since I'm the starter, I'll give you guys an idea but I want you to share deep thoughts.
What I have learned from runescape is to watch out for offers that are too good to be true. Please share and be respectful at all times.

Don't forget the basics of farming and basic cooking...
Furthermore, just general ability to touchtype to deal with so much chat in W2 back in the day...
How to become generally efficient at life, I think I got a bit of that from this game.
Also how to waste time!! and get extremely frustrated!!

1) Learned the names of many IRL trees
2) Learned the names of some IRL ores (iron/copper/tin/coal)
3) Learned about how you need coal and iron to make steel
4) Learned about dishonest people
5) Learned about scams such as pyramid scheme
6) Learned games can have a real effect on you
7) Learned how to flip (sell something higher than what you bought it for)
-) I grew up (all of those were before the age of 11)
-) More recently (within the last 3 years)
8) Learned how to control an economic environment through the use of the GE
9) Learned how to long term invest in items (I use this for the stock market today!)
10) Figured out if you are willing to do a little wrong, there is always a faster way to do something (Bots)
11) Never give away all your wealth or your methods to making it (Not saying don't help people, just saying don't give away your items)
12) Runescape is just a game (Yes I learned this, and it affected me IRL as I stopped caring and realized I don't need it to survive on this earth)
Things I learned through my entire course of RS
How to be efficient in life
How to prioritize
How to talk your way out of things
well...
the trees, the ores, basic cooking and other things from quests
and the english language ofc. About 70% of english I know is from RS :D

2. (This is to all the wealthy people on RS) When you're rich, everyone loves you and wants your money, but when you're broke.. You're nothing..

Ah yes, I type faster than all my peers I credit RS for that :P
Pretty much everything above except for some of the investing things that R4nd0m learned :p. And yes, friend come and go. I remember thinking of all those people on my friends list who just never logged in any more. It was sort of sad until I realized they were probably off enjoying having a job and just living life :). One day I'll be like them, but until then, I'll be right here. :)

I can relate to many of your experiences above as I too have learned a thing or two in my years of Runescape.
The most powerful lesson I learned from Runescape is as follows: enjoy the little things while they are there.
Although I believe Jagex has becoming a complete sellout, I really do appreciate and thank the original owners who provided me with the opportunity to have many years of fun on the legendary game - Runescape.

Being able to read pretty quickly is something I attribute to RS, being awkward in social situations is something I also attribute to RS but that doesn't really affect me as I embrace my awkwardness and use it :p

Being able to use your head so people won't lure you into dangerous places.
Don't you just hate it when you really like the topic of conversation and want to make a post but all of the things you were going to say have been mentioned above??
I pretty much just learned the basic economic principals, faster typing and the like. Not so much the tree and ore names.

Why not name them even if they are already mentioned because thats what you have learned.

Oo.. Just remembered, definitely picked up a bit of determination. If you want something badly go out and do it... Ie my first 99 fletching took me 2 years but I got it done!

What I learned from Runescape...
1) Some English (I started in second grade) words like "examine", "wield", and "prospect"
2) Ores, tree, and fish names also what smithing/flechting was
3) Basic economics (most people who got A's in my econ class played Runescape)
4) People are dishonest and will scam you
5) Time management
6) Multitasking, back when I didn't bot
7) For my brother he learned some German from Runescape because German worlds didn't have bots so he'd always skill there and eventually understood some of it (he's still learning)
Most of them were stated anyways.
