Is DTM walking feasible anymore?
I have observed the RS MM for sometime and on every occasion, I have noticed that objects change their positions slightly. For example, a supposedly stationery NPC character would shift a pixel or two in any direction in the MM without actually moving in the MS. Same goes for building walls, etc. Also, for other boundaries like hedges and bushes, their entire shape is jiggled around and changed. This is only noticeable when you can see every pixel by the use of software that magnifies the screen.

SPS aside, are there any other ways to navigate RuneScape?

I never got DTM walking to work at all.

What do you use for walking?

I use static DTMs for location checking in my miner. Try DDTMs to get accurate(takes time), or the object DTM include(doesn't take as long).

DTM walking is very feasible, fast and reliable still.

I have noticed that some "Tree" in minimap changes, like loosing "wooden" part.. but not all just few of them.. though, used, ObjDTM, and works good, but sometimes still fails.

Well, DTMs won't work if objects in the MM change shape, right? I am not sure if this anti botting mechanism is present in all areas in runescape because a few months, I was able to use DTMs in Bruthorpe without a problem, now they are useless because of shape changing.

If you guys don't believe me try it for yourselves. Go to Burthorpe and use the windows magnifier found in the accessories section. Zoom into MM and observe the stationary NPC points and see how they change pos...

Exactly what I am suffering only in my case, all objects change frequently.

have an array of DTMs to check through in case it changes?

There could be endless variations if all objects changed shape. Looking at obj dtms atm let's see if they work

If they don't, you might try again in a few weeks. Working on improvements and updates to the include.

Nice to hear :), also if you feel like adding another object add the desert bolder things :p, also since this was made jagex have added alot more randomness eg chopping cactus, tree's in half. and npc dots change colours alot more :P

I guess it depends on the area... I use dtm walking with my phoenix feather script and that works fine.

I find DTM walking slow and mostly unreliable as well, but maybe that's because my compass is free to rotate so i've to use DTMRotated.

A DDTM anchor works well though provided that you are staying in the area. If you move out of the area and move back (causing a 'reload' of the map), you have to regenerate the DDTM again due to color changes.

The most flexible and compass-friendly way to walk would be TPA. Though quite a bit of work is required to make the path, especially if the path don't have any distinct colors (eg. a road).
