There have been certian scirpts that do steal them like a fight pit but things created by wizzup wt star and alot of the memebers all clean.
They can only steal them if they connect to the internet so just be carefull.

but some open the internet for a legit reason. like wizzups powerminer did. i donno if it still does but its just to see if you have the latest version.

If you can read the code from SCAR, you can see if it sends the pass to somewhere through the internet or not.

Joshie you're an idiot so please shut up.
Trusted members may still try to scam.
Not much chance of a script stealing your password as it is open source and you should be able to tell if it does or not just by looking at it.
As far as I've seen, there's only been 2.

Uhm, last time I checked, if you knew how to code this type of thing into SCAR and bothered to script it, you would probably go for SRL Membership as well. And if you have SRL membership, what is the point of stealing passwords when you could just macro gp?
They would be posted on other sites, and probably wouldn't use SRL. Scammers don't go through all that trouble.
And hey, Josh is cool. From what you posted, you don't seem like you know what you are talking about. Trusted members generally don't scam, hence the *Trusted* part. Unless it's sythe lmao. They all scam.

What about MOB? He was an SRL member. He scammed a couple of accounts from people with his script. Im sure there have been other cases too.
Generally, free scripts are open source, so if ur not a complete idiot, you can check out if the script sends out a password to a site or not. Now if the free script is obbed, then, well, i wouldnt trust it.

Bottom line is read your scripts carefully before you run them, then you will be safe. I never ever run a script that i havent read a couple of times, and SCAR has may legitimate reasons to connect to the internet.

The only way a script could steal your password is if you let it access the internet.
Due to the very convenient firewall SCAR has built into it, you can tell the script whether or not a script can access the internet or not.

LOL no...
Anyways who would want to scam, usually, a level 3 acc with a high lvl its not that hard to get a power whatever and run it till you get your desired level

Just read throught a script for anything suspecious. oR run it first with a fake pass. If your firewall comes up then you know something is wrong.

If you think trusted = 100% fool proof, you are horribly mistaken.
Look at WeedMan, look at Bego, and possibly even 1337_Macro.
Those were guys with good rep. Just because you are a SRL member doesn't make you trusted. It makes a good SCAR scripter.
They would be posted on other sites, and probably wouldn't use SRL. Scammers don't go through all that trouble.
Ignorance. Shear ignorance.
Scammers are scammers because they are good at it. Thus why they are titled scammers.
Someone who attempts to scam is not a scammer, but an idiot if they can not complete it.
They go through a LOT of trouble to scam. They aren't lazy.

I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to scammers or joshie?
Either way. I'm right about scammers, I've befriended at least 3 scammers before they scammed and even stayed friends with 1.
And for joshie, he called someone new to this an idiot.
If this is the joshie I know from Rs-R, which I'm fairly certain it is, then you don't know what you are talking about.

wow having a unpleasant discussion about scammers.. makes me lawl. :]
There has rarely ever been any cases.. Check the site before you permit the website. http:// ....txt (version/news checks) are always safe. Other than that you should look through the script or ask someone of higher intelligence to scim it. If it's obfustacated and free, definately do NOT use it..

Think about this...
You put your pass in one spot, usually Players[2].Pass or whatever. That's the ONLY place you put your pass in. (If there are forms, it could be more complex)
Now, if someone wants to STEAL your pass, the SCAR script MUST use Players[X].Pass somewhere, either to copy it to another variable, or to put it into a command to send it to a server online. So, the first thing you should do for every script you use is search it for .Pass and see where it comes up. If it only appears in the DeclarePlayers procedure, then it should be fine. If it starts popping up in other areas of the script, or offscreen somewhere that you can't see, then they may be trying to scam you.

And usually pay-scripts are trying to connect to internet! And if a script is obfuscated its more harder to find if it steals your password or not and if its not trying it may still want to connect to internet for many good reasons ;)
