Accord to a Russian Lawmaker, The United States was actually testing their weapons, which was the cause of the meteorite to hit Russia.

This was the first conspiracy theory that just got out regarding the meteorite that hit Russia a few days ago.

I was just wondering if this guy was serious.. then the news article stated that he was "known for his outrageous remarks"

But I had a good laugh when I was reading this and saw the headline lol.

Moscow: Russian lawmaker Vladimir Zhirinovsky, known for his outrageous remarks, said that meteorite fragments had not rained down on Russia but that the light flashes and tremors resulted from US weapons tests.

"Those aren't meteors falling, it's the Americans testing new weapons," Zhirinovsky, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, said.

He said US Secretary of State John Kerry had wanted to warn Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about the "provocation", but could not reach him.

This was a reference to US State Department comments earlier this week that Kerry had spent several days trying to speak to Lavrov by phone to discuss North Korea and Syria.

Zhirinovsky said outer space has its own laws.

"Nothing will ever fall out there," he said.

"If something falls, it's people doing that. People are the instigators of wars, the provocateurs."

It's kind of scary that he's in a position of power.

Have you seen or heard some of the people in the U.S. that are in power? My face gets red from hitting myself every time i hear them talk. Of course....this is a lot crazier than the things they say...

Right then the Japan tsunami in 2011 was the result of Russia's underwater weapon experiment.

You should see the guys in power here in Turkey, they regularly make outrageous comments, ranging from saying that there shouldn't be any homosexuals in the country to seriously arguing that a child who grows up on his own would learn arabic from the nature itself.

Actually, the U.S. had at one point been developing a "tsunami bomb" that when detonated beneath the surface of the ocean would cause tsunamis.

The more you know.

This lawmaker is known for his outlandish positions and is not really worth being concerned with....now if Putin were to be saying this then THAT would be a major concern for sure....
