I wasn't a big fan of the windows 7 layout either, so I just changed my theme to this.

Aren't you going to encounter some problems with some more modern programs that require something above xp?

If you have more than 4 gb of Ram then 32 bit XP won't be able to use all of it (correct me if I am wrong on this). I like Win7 personally, have used Win8 a little, but don't like the whole 2 desktop things unless I was using a touch screen.

Lol, blackmail?

OT: Maybe it's your computer. Get a better one and you might like Win7/8 more ;)

This! I find myself dragging people screens to the edges to make them only take up half the screen and when it doesn't work I just wanna smash the computer because I can't be asked to make the browser only take up half the screen while doing something on the other half! Transitions between windows just seems much easier as well.

Xp is more down to earth. I remember when I loved 98se more than xp(due to dos incompatibility/glitches), after a while xp became a de facto, for a very long time. Now switching more to win 7, due to some programs not working on xp.
Of course, main os in not windows anymore, but ubuntu, but that's a different story. Overall, every operating system gives something specific, or has at least some bonuses. Mostly people think windows is for gaming and linux for technical people, but sometimes there are specific programs on win 7, which are easier to install(than on linux) for the same functionality(or at least desired). And there is a whole different issue of how windows and linux handle the network packets... where again, in every situation, i keep switching around.
Windows 8? What's that? o.o

XP is quite old, and has bugs and other nasty things. Support for XP is going to stop very soon so I do not recommend that you use it

Hmm sounds great.. I still remember that windows and I see many expert user or developers are also using that windows now.. because that windows is simple and easy to use.. I think if someone wanna learn the use of computer he should start on windows Xp.
