Lies about age, birth dates, etc.

Its funny how many people lie about their age, birth date, etc. I used to do it a long time ago; I remember I even did it here. So, I've been really curious to see if there are any really awesome or funny or just plain and serious stories about situations where people lied about their age or D.O.B. or whatever is related.

The worst one for me was when I lied to a girl to make her think that I was older than her so that she would like me... :P

Note: Dont even try it, especially when your 13. It worked, but for about 5 days.. Lolz.

But no, I used to lie about my age for a website.. I can't remember the website now.

Im 17, I didnt exactly lie..a girl that I was at a party with was like your 20 right? and I was like :garfield:

I used to lie to get into adult websites. But beyond that I've never lied about my age.

In the U.S. it can be prosecuted for breaking terms of service agreements under the CFAA.

When I was 12 all the forums I frequented were using phpBB 2 and all of them seemed to "enforce" COPPA, which I think was set by default. I always lied that I was 13.

I lie when something requires my age, I usually put the highest that is offered (I think Im 101 on here). I do this because I like the anonymity of the internet and that people don't know me, my real name, my age, my general location in the world, ect.

E: Im 101 on skype rather, not on here.

I lied i was 13 when making a runescape acount, that was 4/5 years ago.

I've lied only when you need to put your birthday date and year on registration but I'am too lazy and just click random date, month and year :garfield:

I only lie when I can't reach certain content because of age requirements.

I always lie about my age to around 20 when registering on websites just in case. I made the mistake of telling Steam than I was 16 and then when I tried to get an M rated game it wouldn't let me ><

Idk when I was 13 ish that "coppa" stuff did not exist or maybe I just never saw it, I am 18 now. I only lie about my age when trying to get into a bar :p

Yeah. I usually lie about my age when I sign up for websites. I usually say im 21. I usually say I am 21 on majority of sites. I remember even claiming I was in University on one of my SRL Membership Application. I have no idea why I even tried to get in back then. My script was soo simple and basic, plus, I was 15. Lolz.

A lot of users started doing this because when the internet first began to evolve as a form of media, a lot of websites required you to be 18 years or older to view or access them. I remember i used to play on a flash games site that required you to be 18. All of the kids in my classes in school would go to this site, and lying about your age became accustomed to what you would do online because to access certain sites you had to be 18 or older. This trend probably grew on with us as we got older and the default age range was 18-21, and people would continuously claim that they were within that range because 1: no one could ever find out anyways while you're hiding behind a keyboard, and 2. When you were 13/14 , it was so "cool" to pretend that you were older, gives you a feeling of dominance or superiority.

I never lie about my age but when it comes to registering to new website, I just put it off by a month. Dont we all feel cool when we lie about our age..

I always lie about all my information for online registration. Except the few times I've ordered something with a credit card.

I find it funny that everyone on RS calls each other "kid", when the person they're talking to is probably older than them. People often think that RS players are younger than they actually are, when the average RS player is actually 16+ years old.

I remember when i was a newbie on rs I would lie about my age, but i was worried people might catch on so I always made my fake age 5 over my real. at 12, I said I was 17. at 13, 18 and 14, 19. Then, at 15+ I said my real age lol

Lol people who are saying they haven't lied about their age are lying about their age! :) thats how i see it.

Yeah, most of the old hand here are over 18. For instance, I'm 23. If you want older than that, WT-Fakawi recently celebrated his 50th birthday.

My uncle lied about his birthday at one of his jobs as a student. He was shocked when his colleagues congratulated him on a random day (till then he forgot what date he said his birthday was). :)

I always lie about my age. Because i feel too old. i always say somewhere between 20-30 but for real i am 72...
and because if i say my real age either nobody believes or start making fun of me. Also asks some strange questions, expect toomuch from me. Few years ago when used to play rs for real i often had some people who couldnt live without me haha constantly asking for advices i felt like watching up my grandkids while taking care to rs players. It may be some problems in their families maybe and i felt like they trade me for the parents. Because i always very carefull and i like to give advices and watch for somebody.
