LoL ELO hell - how to escape?

Cry for help at all the pro LoL players here>>>

How do I escape this ELO hell? (playing on Garena Asia servers. Game is owned by Riot and sold to different servers all over the world that host a player base if you didn't know this...)

Just dropped from Silver III to IV, won two games after that, but don't see myself ever going to gold.
It's just all a gamble... win lose win lose followed by random win and lose streaks...

I always end up with a horrible team and last game at least I made them recover from 6 / 17 by making them do baron twice, which half of them (the adc and jg) just gave away after a minute of getting that lead by giving away free kills. I won't go into the specifics...
So we did end up winning with my Taric support, but I pretty much had to co-ordinate them all game long, always getting them to push lane when we could, do baron and yeah, I don't mean to sound cocky, but that's what won the game in the end.

The thing is, I'm just really sick of playing support and supporting a team that doesn't know how to carry.
Half the time I even get flamed for it. 'No lane presence go kill yourself Janna' etc...

Just so tired of losing game after game, because of the trolls/feeders or people who just want to carry the game and can't.
Fizz: 'Noob Janna look my kills. I carry this team alright' --> Lose at 27:00

So sick of people that don't know how to counterpick or synchronise with their team.
Sick of the garens and the AP yis.
Tired of junglers thinking it's a great idea to feed the enemy their buffs..I'd rather have them stay in their jungle than roaming the map and invading without wards.

I've had enough.

Somebody please tell me how to pubstomp my way safely to gold.
I can't stand silver league any longer....
There's only so much I can do to win every time and it's frustrating to always end up with bad carries.

I play (but not restricted to!!!) jungle taric/heca/nunu and support Soraka/Janna/Taric/
Never play adc since that role is always taken by someone who hopefully knows what they're doing (90% of the time they don't..).
Rarely do I go top and mid I've played with malzahar and veigar (first game godlike..second game just failed since I didn't go all out offensive and had a pathetic 520 AP which didn't do anything against xz/gp kiting our team and killing me while my team was busy getting themselves killed)...Anyways....I know how to play all roles, I just play support and jungle so much since those are the least popular picks...

Willing to do anything to win.

-Need to get to gold. Ladder system makes it near impossible in Solo/Duo Q

I'm a totally noob in LoL. Sad but true. I always lose too..

Well, I don't know how things are on the Garena servers, but I carried myself to gold on the NA server on the back of Taric/Lulu/Leona support and Nautilus/Jarvan jungle. What I would recommend is work on playing more aggressive supports, since those do better in solos in my experience. Taric's a good choice, but Soraka and Janna don't have the offensive cc or damage needed.

Don't have lulu or leona...

I had the same problem, not that I play much ranked but I also lose most games. In this lower elo, one cant simply carry the game for the other 4 feeders or bad players. I recommend you to play with a clan or friends, and use skype. This will greatly increase the teamwork and thus win ratio. (Also the game wouldnt be fun for me if my friends didnt play it anyway)

Thresh is the best support for offence and carrying your adc.

Actually the ladder system is setup in a fairly unique way.

Over the course of hundreds of games, if you are truly averaging 50% win rate, you should hit diamond tier before being 50% causes you to be stagnant. In fact, there is a ridiculous technique that requires no skill that should get you to at least gold: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cz7TWpRXyRY It sounds ridiculous, but it's all psychological. Don't rage, be nice.

Also, focus on team synergy picks as opposed to limiting yourself to specific champions. IE: Taric is a fine support and all, but if your lane partner is MF, then Sona is the best support. However, if your partner is draven, then taric can be quite capable. Is your partner caitlyn? Nunu is a great support. Is your partner ezreal? Then Janna is awesome. The same logic applies to jungling... Is your mid malzahar? And top Rumble? Then a physical jungler like hecarim or kha'zix can be quite good. Is your mid zed with a top garen? Then Evelyn or Elise are amazing junglers (actually, those are my preferred junglers in all cases where top and mid aren't both mages).

edit: also, focus on your own mechanics and gameplay. u cant win every game, so u might as well make sure u at-least are playing as close to perfect as u can each and every game.

Uh, if you're averaging a 50% win rate you won't end up any higher than you currently are. Riot has said time and time again that you cannot grind yourself to high up on the ladder without having the requisite skill level to actually compete there. Simply playing more won't get you to Diamond, you also need to have Diamond level skills. Or an insane amount of luck.

Anyway, the main reason I like Taric is that he can work well with every ADC. He's not usually the best choice, but he's also almost never a bad choice.

Actually the new system has slight glitches in the calculation and a 50% over a long enough time will get you to diamond. They're still ironing out the calculations and that's kinda where it's at right now. Granted your skills matter greatly because you will be going agianst said higher skills as you go up and if you don't match their skills, then your win rate will fall. But a 50% the entire time will eventually hit diamond according to current formulas...

Well, the thing is it's actually really damn hard to get a perfect 50% win rate, and even a 50.0000000001% win rate is enough to cause you to slowly rise. But if you manage to actually get 50% even, you shouldn't move.

The devil's in the decimals, I believe you are both right, it sounds like the calculations take into example extraneous decimals, but the win percentage does not?

Win percentage is something you have to calculate manually, it's not a statistic they give you themselves. They give you number of wins, number of losses, League ranking, and number of League Points.

The actual quantity of points you get for a win versus a loss are based on a variety of things:

• Win/loss streak (the real kicker for how an AVERAGE of 50% can still knock you up the ladder positively. If you win 3 or more matches in a row, your elo starts going up even faster than a normal match, however, losing 3 or more matches in a row will not affect you in this manner, so over an extended period of time you could be knocked up higher once random chance gives you a solid streak and you would not be knocked as low in the same bad luck scenario).
• Expectations of your win (your team's elo versus enemy team's elo affects how much you win or lose so you don't win a lot for beating a team you are expected to beat, and vice versa for the losers).
• The addition of pre-mades (having an extremely high elo partner paired with a low one will cause different elo changes for each, the lower will be affected less and the higher will be affected more).
• When the matches occurred in your history (the first 10 games are the most important, as you play more and more matches, each match is worth less overall until about match 25 I believe where it's set at the lowest denomination).
• The size of your team (having a leaver will affect how much your elo will be affected by, but only for the team with the leaver. If purple has an early leaver and blue wins, then blue gains as expected for a 5v5, but purple loses an amount smaller than expected. Vice versa, if purple wins, then they gain more than expected, but blue only loses as expected).

I believe that this is only accurate if the High Elo/Low Elo pair loses, and is reversed if they win.

Agreed, to clarify:
Win: high elo loses more, low elo loses less.
Loss: high elo gains less, low elo gains more.

However, the difference isn't quite as intense for the low elo person as if they had somehow gone against the other team without their duo queue partner.

Most of the games just seem like 'luck of the draw' to me.

Well, it might seem mean, but if all of your games really feel like luck of the draw that probably means you aren't good enough to be ranked much higher than you are now. Higher ranked players can relatively routinely carry Silver games, especially Silver IV ones.

This is Asia servers. I've seen diamond player's gold account smurf lose.
Everyone is playing with smurfs or is new to ranked. It's 50 50 win chance at best.
And sure I've carried games, but not with support and as jungler only with hecarim.
Whenever I go mid I usually win, but someone else always wants it so I just pick the role nobody else wants.
I also DC a lot which isn't nice.
I don't know why I dc my ping is 130-250 so it's fine. :/

Okay, the DCing a lot is probably one of the biggest reasons you keep losing. Try contacting player support, they might be able to help you connect to the game better.

(I've actually done this in my first 10 games won 7/10 but then stopped because it got frustrating)!

Garena still has free weeks, right? You might want to wait for one of those to try her out before buying her.

Yes they have all the free weeks and skin promotion bundles etc...Although the pricing in IP is the same. RP costs a lot less I think, but I'm going to play until I get all my things.
They even had free stuff up to level 30 every 5 levels e.g. 10 win IP boost, free nunu yi ashe ryze skin (choose one), free tier 3 quint at level 30..
If you stay online for 500 hours on their Garena chat you have enough Garena gems (accumulate 1 per 5 mins... need 5000) for a 1 day IP boost!
So it's a little different like that from EU or NA but they have all the tourney ads etc.. aswell. Asian tourneys

Oh well support isnt for me besides quite often when I dont offer myself up as support someone usually trolls and picks a second adc or something, which is perfectly fine Id say.
e.g. lost game to Teemo+Twitch lane when I was supporting with Taric and shaking my head when that Cait still ended up with less cs than Teemo. What's the point of support if the adc doesn't know how to last hit? Hitting minions is absolute taboo you know the drill (you steal 1 minion I afk now gg etc...) even if it means getting a minion that your adc wouldn't have gotten otherwise.
Now you might say Teemo+Twitch is a squishy easy lane . YES, but this Caitlyn just misses all her Q skillshots and ends up with no mana. During trades with Twitch she just lets him smack her with basics while she walks to the tower. All my stun initiations were just so half-hearted and it was an easy win for them. They didn't even have a support.

NO. NO more supporting these players I have had enough. At gold ELO I will support sure. But no more!

sp rarely viable at low ELO and often not even picked

Jungling my way out of ELO hell soon hopefully...Although I feel like the last 4 games I had the luck of having good teammates every time so it's going to be a rough road. :(

I'm gonna be honest, In solo que I keep crawling back up to silver and when I play with a friend we drop down.
Why?

Well he mains ADC. I main Support, however. If we are both bot lane we cannot look after the other lanes as easily. So we have gotten into the habbit of widening our roles... E.G I go mid he goes jungle... That way as a duo we can carry harder.

In solo Que I only support... and guess what 90% of the time I win

Teemo and Twitch are not an easy lane to fight. Both have poison and can burn you down hard.

How do you win 90% of games as support? Got any tips £.£

Skip to about 12 minutes in. My friend is ap carry and I still manage to defend him like a boss... It's seriously all down to Thresh. Trying starting off with full support soraka etc, soraka is AMAZING for sustain :)

this is all the games I played (1 normal I lost not included) since my last post.
I can't actually remember losing a game with her.
I won 7 games with her and lost 1. KDA ratio 7.4.

I got promoted back into SilverIII, but my last win only gave me 15 points.
Can't complain, but I hope it doesn't get drastically less as I move up. I need to keep winning...

You're probably best off losing 1 game every now and again as the W/L Point ratio is hard to compete against. The more you win the less you are awarded

[Just won another Sejuani game 6 / 7 / 23. No pull at blue and died to Teemo at blue! Then died to katarina when I got to red...Was rough and they had no jungler so top Voli got destroyed by Teemo/Yorick. Their vayne was also pretty fed but my ult always seems to be able to catch enemies out when they're all hunched up together sitting in a warded bush. It's just great cc. She's not the best jungler (very bad ganks before 6 unless enemy is really overextending) , but I really like playing her. Lee Sin is probably a lot better in SoloQ though. And amumu does more damage, has amazing cc too and his ganks are good early on. He is banned every game though.

What I like most about her: Can jump over bushes. Enemies will NEVER see it coming.
Enemy team pushing midtower? Jump in from wraiths and ulti everyone!
Bot and top lane there are some really nice spots for that too depending if you're blue or purple. She's not the best and needs some potions to survive the jungle, but I love her clear times and ability to jump walls ( Although I do facesmash into a wall 3-4 times every game...).]
tl;dr -> I like Sejuani

Veigar support, last pick instalocking second jungler and then afking, the flaming midlaner who thinks he's pro because he has the most kills, but has been trading them 1:1...
Then that last pick telling me (I was first pick) - I say jungle first. I jungle!!!!!! So I'm like okay...not wanting to risk another AFK/trollgame and he goes ahead and jungles with Fiora. Doesn't even give second..third..fourth..NOT even fifth blue to me (ryze) and we lose horribly with Teemo toplaning Cho Gath just..ARGHHHH
And then there was that Kayle support who didn't put down a single ward all game.

A)Stop playing.
B)Stop losing. :p

Seriously though. If your streak of losing is bad... Stop playing for at least a day. All sorts of reasons on that. Especially late night playing. I've definitely noticed that playing after midnight causes the worst players to come out. Also, I do not care how bad your team is, if your skill is legitimately multiple tiers higher than the people around you, you will be carrying them through it. I find a good mid is the most likely to accomplish this, but if you're that good, you should be accomplishing it at most any role - plenty of supports will carry bad teams through the exact same thing even. Thresh being a great example of exactly that.
