Hey all...
Most of you young chums won't have a clue who I am, or even the names of communities that existed, but I was active around the rscheatnet days and was an admin at kaitnieks.com until both of those sites had their unfortunate demise.
Anyway I've been out of the loop for a year or two, this seems to be the only site running well along with sythe.org, but they seem to lack certain qualities.
SRL looks pretty tidy and is obviously expanding rapidly, still cute to see my old gas finder in there that I knocked up. That was in no way meant to be permanent, more of an idea/proof of concept and it has seemed to stick haha.
Enough rambling... can some of the folk from back in the days fill me in on what's going on in terms of anti-cheating measures? Last I knew the colours were causing a few hassles and people still had to pick colours for scripts and that was slowly being worked around by DTMs. The randoms that were unsolvable were the maze and I think the mime... I may be wrong.
A few other things I'd like to know... current state of the client. I'm pretty sure Sean and saevion (unsure of the dudes name) got sick of rs cheating and pissed off, do we still have access to deobfuscated versions of the client? Looks like some kids at sythe are running crude servers but I didn't spend enough time to check if the mudclient was current. I still think scar with memory hooks is what a cheating community should be aiming for.
Last thing, the guy from kaitnieks.com that turned the client inside out and did stuff we thought wasn't possible, he was a java pro but I completely forget his name. He was a programmer by occupation, and I recall him leaving on a sour note, claiming to have sent a certain algorithm to jagex (can I use that word  ) that will detect any non human mouse movements, and apparently it was implemented. Do any of you guys know if there was any truth in this, and has it resulted in bans etc?
Finally (promise), can I get a quick overview of the current randoms or banning methods that are causing serious problems? Being at uni I have a bit of spare time and the grey matter upstairs is turning to mush, hence half the reason I'm here. I'm willing to code stuff that requires a lot of maths or logic, eg some new mouse movement methods, image tracking/detection etc. I'm not up for making a script to kill goblins or walk to the bank, I'd rather contribute something valuable to you guys.
Enough is enough, looking forward to your replies. If you're confused and have no idea who I am, don't spam up this thread because someone is paying for you to post :)
