meh Torrentz for warez that's all I use it for. I hate filehosting crap where u have to pay if u want to download more than like 100mb :s wats the point of the torrent if ur gonna pay anyway ?
I'm torrenting something that's 400 Meg. I didn't have to pay anything :)
Torrents are used to not kill the server (bandwidth) by making everyone do a bit of downloading and uploading... I think.
try to join a private server, usually you have some rules like seed everything 1:1 but downloads are really fast and the biggest advantage of torrenting is that if you stop downloading halfway down, it doesnt matter as you will resume from where you were

torrents rock, i use them everyday.there is nothing that is a more efficient way to move large files among large amounts of ppl,plus no dealing with fileserver junk, no mwmberships(unlessyou join one of the bittorent communities, which i recommend, give back some of what your taking)plus if you don't mind things being pirated, I get most movies before they hit the theater, sometimes cam rip:( but often good dvd quality screeners)
edit: oh also a "tracker" is just a txt file that list what servers host a particulal "torrent"
kinda organizes everybody and advertises your torrent you are trying to share.
ie the more ppl with a file,(seeds) the faster you can download that file. please do everybody a favor and if you download a torrent, when it's finished seed for a couple of hours(it's only fair to maintain at least a 1-1 upload download ratio)
Lol I use azureus for my torrent downloading. Torrents are awsome. Best thing about azureus is its encrypted :) and what are you talking about paying for like 100mb? I'm downloading 8.7GB worth of stuff right now and I didnt pay anything lol.
Well everyone's told me that uTorrent is the fastest but I can't see how wat download client u use changes the speed of the download it's up to the seeders oh well....oh btw has anyone else got the Windows hack that lets u change the amount of people u let connect to ur computer for downloading. Example Windows only lets no more than 10 connect but someone made a hack that lets up to 16 billion or maybe million (lol) sources connect to ur computer. I watched my friends download speed go from 30 kbp/s to 500 when he changed to the highest amount 16 mil/bil.....whatever....downside is worms are so very very easy to get and sometimes it backfires and slows it down and other times it doesn't do anything lol. I changed mine to 200 but it suggests not to go over 100
