18 posts right after one another, seems like you were spamming and when you didn't get the JR Member rank right away, you kept on spamming 7 more posts, confused as to why you weren't a JR Member after all the effort you had put into finding a good thread to spam. Then, frustrated, you made this thread, inquiring why you didn't get the rank straight away. Through your above posts, you've shown that you already knew that you needed 30 posts for the rank, and also that all you wanted was to leech the scripts in the JR members section, and now the only problem for you was:
Spamming, aswell as leeching are against the rules, please refrain from doing either of those ^_^
If that's your sole reason for wanting to attain higher ranks, you may want to rethink your objective on these forums.
That attitude is not going to get you very far in this community.
Spamming doesn't help either.
By posting I hear.
To be fair, the junior member rank is still mostly for leechers as well. Don't get me wrong, we have a number of great people there, but achieving higher isn't hard with actual effort. Junior member's is just kind of a small stepping stone between the unknown and getting somewhere. It's not a rank meant for the dedicated - it's meant for registered users who understand how to setup simba and basic rules (I don't mean to insult anyone at that rank, that's just the reason why the requirements are so low).
I agree somewhat (that's certainly not the case for me and other Juniors) but when Junior Member is seen as an obstacle blocking people from scripts - an obstacle that requires them to spam to surmount it, then their mindset is all wrong.
I believe Junior Member exists not to block off the higher sections of the forums, but to encourage contribution.
I believe spammers like this should be atleast banned for a few days.. if not, there isn't even a point on jr memb existing, cause any guy can come and spam 30 posts and bam jr memb.
It's a discussion we've had on upper forums a number of times... Honestly, that's mostly why it dropped from the previous requirement of 6 months and 300 posts about a year or so ago. We need some level and the powers that be decided 30 was a solid amount. I would prefer if junior's had a contribution or reputation level (ie: 1 script or otherwise any level of community contribution - quality not mattering), but then it becomes a manual step o give people the rank and becomes a massive pain for the admins to manually update each person who reaches that level, and pay attention enough to everyone to be able to do it - so I easily understand why we don't do that.
would it be feasible to have only a certain number of posts a day count towards pc (maybe for only people under x rank)? e.g under 30 pc (jr member) only 3-5/day
If that's feasible to implement and wouldn't effect the automatic nature of the system, I think that would at least help address the problem (not a complete solution ofc but an improvement).
(and if you wanted to make @KeepBotting; apply for srl member, you could add in a limit for ranks under full member :D)
Jr member should just need x amount of time. The post requisite just makes people spam to get there.. and between making them spam 5 times to get pm and 30 to get jr memb, just leave it at 5 and you avoid getting all these spammers :p
A guest is someone who doesn't register.
A registered user is a guest who did register ;).
A junior member is someone who post helpfull content like progress reports, feedbacks or a first script every now and then. Basically a bro.
We welcome the last two. The extra benefits are purely there to promote becoming active in the community. But the spamming issue exists because users are being pushed to hard to a certain post count.
Lol and then there is this little gem of a post!
