WT-Fakawi statement on KYAB

I have seen and used KYAB and have come to the conclusion that KYAB could well be the Ultimate Blow to Jagex. KYAB is a very powerfull and easy to use bot. Not only does it gather positional information, it also recognizes object and animation. It is 100% dependend of SCAR and thus SRL is the only choice. A bot with the powers of KYAB is a nice alternative for other pro-bots, albeit you are restricted to one client per computer only. BUT....The SRL-community will not support KYAB for the following reasons:

• The SRL-community's focus has always been on SCAR, and it will always be on SCAR only.
• Keeping KYAB alive is 100% dependend on the good works of Benland100 and solarwind. If either of them quit, KYAB will be dead.
• The SRL-community does not support their underlying central server controlled mechanisms.
• KYAB renders most if not all of SCAR/SRL's work useless. The SRL-community needs to keep its heritage clean and make sure it provides continuity in approach and vision in it's quest to conquer runescape.

I have attached a poll to see how our community reacts. Please answer the poll. Please feel free to discuss this, but only if you have anything sensible to add, and please keep it mature. Any flaming or otherwise useless response will be deleted and infraction added.

i think this KYAB represents the dumbing down around here,

we all used to spend ages perfecting our RRW, we've made complex methods of finding a new roadcolor, this makes us skilled and knowledgable.

with this utility, non of that is needed anymore, we only need to walk somewhere, write down a few numbers, and thats it, walking sorted. no more of that knowledge-growing activity.

this would be fine if we all had another activity to replace walking, but i bet non of you have any plans to learn how KYAB works, (especially since its closed source, and doesnt decompile very well)

look at what happened with aryan, most people didnt care how or why it worked, but there were some who did learn from it, and the original developers.

nothing against BenLand100 or Solarwind, but i think this is not good for us, not good at all. :(

I agree fakawi. If we become to dependent on kyab, and kyab dies, we are basically stuffed. :eek:

I can see where you're coming from Fawki, and agree with that. I also however am appealed by the fact that KYAB can create scripts that are completely flawless by using UID and Type functions, which SCAR can never do. It can be a very powerful tool, and its not like its incredibly easy to make a good script, you still need the brains behind it to get the logic and math figured out.

So because I like the traditional values of SCAR and this community, I will use SCAR/SRL. And because I like the possible flawless script making with KYAB, I will use KYAB. I mean, I'm going to script in both. Like I've made my Lumby miner in KYAB, now I'm going to make a Clay miner or maybe an Al Kharid silver miner in SCAR/SRL.

I can see both sides of the coin, and both have their positives and negatives.

For myself, I might script with KYAB, much easier to do. But a friend of mine asked monday if I could make him a seers flax spinner. As he isn't a member here and I didn't feel like leaking KYAB, I just created it with colour walking.
The flax spinner is almost finished and will be released to free in a few days.
Another reason I want to use both is to improve my scripting skills. Scripting without KYAB is a nice challenge :)
Oh, and one last thing. In order to use KYAB you still need to learn the old-fashioned methods, or else you won't get in the KYAB community.

I think it should now be required to have RRW, if an app doesn't have RRW then they shouldn't be able to get in at all. Or else they could make a really good script, with no walking, then use KYAB only when they got into members.

I like the idea of KYAB and I support it wholeheartedly, and the fact that it supports only 1 client makes world raping kept to a minimal. I also however support Fakawi's implications.

I think the solution to this is to move KYAB out of SRL and host it on another site, much like RegeX and his team did with Aryan. Kaitnieks was just kept to a discussion and help forum with download links. I think KYAB devs should start a new site, does not matter if its a free host or not. As long its there to download the bot and support its users.

It's not that big of a deal I'll still being using both.:spot:

I've already finished half of my rune crafter in the old method, I just thought It would be cool to learn both, I mean having a good variety is never a bad thing...

I agree with fawki and yakman on this. Scar alone forces you to think much cleverly than kyab does. Most things iwth color picking don't work flawlesly, and you can get a much greater accomplishment by learning, and doing things the hard way. Every programmer knows that there are 50 ways to say "hello world", but with such a chalenge that rs and jagex give us, no only the most clever and well thought out methods will work. I LOVE looking at good scripters scripts, reading how they work, and thinking "this is genius!". Sure, a kyab script will be more powerfull, but I feel that the intellect that is utterly required at the bottom line to be able to script with scar is partially what keeps this community so healthy. If I start to auto more than script, I may consider making a nice kyab one, but right now, I want to script, and so I'm sticking with srl.

I still like the idea of using both, it just seems like 1 is good for learning and 1 is good for autoing... but some times it's just nice to see something new once in awhile like KYAB come around, it keeps things from getting DULL around here:cartman:, although they never have yet :D

But there is really no need to worry, it's not like KYAB will be around forever...

Sadly, I don't like KYAB...although it works very well. I believe that this forum should not be using KYAB and any further discussion should be closed.

I have supported KYAB since it came out. But I have supported SRL longer. Which is why I am doing both. To see SRL die would be devastating. You can still expect many good SRL scripts from me:D

If i had a choice i would stick with both because no scar script is still flawless it ALWAYS at least gets the walking part stuck and i think KYAB would help improve our script and it would be easier so then we could focus on the other things instead of most of the walking (my opinion)

I doubt KYAB will be the final blow to RS. Not enough people know how to script to make it a real threat. They wouldn't be able to use it if they have to apply for it.

Plus, those who use SCAR for the challenge of outsmarting Jagex will most likely always use it, as it's more of a challenge then KYAB. Which I've yet to use. . .Might be a while.

I have NEVER liked KYAB, I have NEVER used KYAB, and I never will. I think, and thought since it came out, that it was destroying our baby, our SRL include.

IMO, I don't think anybody should be allowed to link anything to the KYAB forums on here, or have any hearing of KYAB from this forums.

I can only say this about using KYAB.
- You either don't want to improve on your scripting skills. (You can make flawless scripts with SRL too)
- You just want to macro for alot of money - that is sort a sort of leeching.

How did you think I learned programming SCAR and more advanced techniques, not by using RSDemon, Aryan, ARGA or KYAB.

BTW: I like one thing about the KYAB registration, noone will be able to join, because if they don't have KYAB then can't make scripts for it and as long as they can't join they won't have KYAB, nice thinking... lol. :f:

Why don't we post links to RSDemon? Are we allowed to? I'm not sure if we are allowed to, but it just doesn't seem right linking to a sight that the administrators are against (or the program they are using).

And on what sites do people link to SRL? Only other scripting SCAR/SRL sites like Freddy1990.com moparisthebest.com....etc. I doubt RSDemon users link each other to SRL forums.

And 'IMO' RSDemon and KYAB are completly different aswell there's not really much of a comparison I think you should research that if you're going to have such a strong opinion at least enough to support it.

Like hell I dont wanna improve my scripting skills, lol. Thats why I'm not scripting solely with KYAB. :) And have spent the whole day off school reading up on DDTM's and B4 and TPoint arrays and stuff. And am up at 1:40 AM getting help from nielsie with a couple of things.

And nah I dont auto for money lol, just levels. I dont even play rs anymore

No, and neither is any kyab script either. Walking doesn't always fail in srl, and other things don't alawyas work in kyab either. No script will ever be flawless. And that's complelty ignorming randoms

...and I've come to the conclusion that BenLand100 and Solar have put forth enough effort I shall make 1 script available to their new forum as a small collateral/ contribution to them (my rune crafter).

It's dawned on me how much in the past weeks, that I've missed the way things used to be, the hard - but challenging way.

Like Wizzup? said, you don't become a 'pro' by taking the easy way out. And if it's one thing I've learned in the past 83 days of working my ass off on a project, it's that you can't ever quit/ give up or say you have learned it all...:sasmokin: even if at the end of the day your work has gone unappreciated/ unrewarded.

So I will stick with SCAR/ SRL, but I will still keep my rune crafter around at their forum:garfield: and try my very best to learn what ever it takes to make that much walking possible using DDTMs or what ever that challenge/ obstacle may be.

That's all I have to say and will say about this matter.

i have never used KYAB but i am working on a srl script.. my opinion is that the easier things are for ppl the more they like to use it... jsut like windows and linux.....who ever knows how to run linux will always use linux.. but ppl use windows becuase it is easier to learn with and use... all computer technology is that way... everything is getting easier to work with so lots of ppl are doing it... but i agree with wt fakawi... a bot like KYAB will kill all the "old fashion" ways of botting... i mean take anything about computers and it is this way... some one who spent years learning this thing... and perfected it .. like wt fakawi has done... (prolly several times with diff langs) and then it gets easier and more ppl do it and it works better becuase its easier to learn like functions and things.. makes all the hard work and studying go right down the drain...



PS.. if you cant decypher what i wrote... i havent slept in 3 days and im fixing to go to sleep and will decypher it later ....
