Dial-up takes FOREVER to load.

My dial-up takes forever to load any part of the forums on. That is why my activity has dropped a lot.

So, my question is, how to make my dial-up go a lot faster, without getting Broadband (Verizon DSL in my area is only 14 UDS Per month :@ ) but my mom STILL refuses to drop our 28 USD per month AOL Dial-up :S I don't know why, she won't tell me.

So... how do I make my dialup go a lot faster (I already modded my firefox with some tut I read here :\ Still is not fast.)

So, post people, post reasons for me to tell my mom to get DSL and ways to speed up dial-up, thx :D

use firefox search some spead test

get a knife search a provider with 20 mbits up and down and then to your mommy and....

And how would finding one 20mbps help me? DSL is good enuff for me, but I don't got it.

Probably already know but delete temporary internet files and history maybe turn the storage down on them too speeds it up a lot

maybe your mom doesnt want you to see porno, maybe thats why she wont get dsl. I used to have dial-up when i was in india, it took me a week to download 700mbs...your activity seems pretty high. the thing at the bottom that says connected, double clcik on it, then press properties>configure and change the linkspeed to the maximum then run some tests on it,

maybe ur mom thinks it may bring trouble to her she might think it will give a lot of work to set up a new coneection i don't know.

Wait..how have you macroed for 3 weeks on dial up!? That's insane! 3 Total Weeks w/o Phone..besides cell phone. But people probably call on the normal phone. WOW. If I were you, I would take the power cord and flush it down the toilet..then she can't use no internet..either that, or in her sleep:

kinda like smartz said but instead if calling a friend .... pick up the phone and set it back down but do not let it hang up. everytime she gets on pick it up

Maxing out your cache settings, and enabling pre-load in fasterfox could speed up your dial-up. There is of course may pay programs that compress your data.

Use Safari BETA version... Loads pages for me snap fast...Its a different type of web browser...

This is sorta off topic but i have dial-up too (people pc) and it disconnects every 4 hours (supposed to be a security measure or something -.-) anyone know how to take that off?

I used to have dial-up...it owned because my parents would let me use the internet whenever I wanted. With DSL, I'm not allowed on weekdays :p

IEJB: I make it so when RS says 'Error connecting to server 3+ times, it will pause script, so that is kinda how I get good stats :\ I am poor in rs :p

i used to have dial up like 2 years ago and when i played runescape on my comp it would take like half an hour to load everytime jagex made a new update which was really annoying

no matter what u do, u cant get faster than 56kbps with dialup, which is too slow for most websites
so if u want faster internet, the only solution is to get broadband
optimizing doesnt have much effect on the speed the page loads
