Step 1) Download and run the SVN 1.4.5 installer

Step 2) Click 'Yes' to install SVN

For those who were wondering, SVN is a very convenient way to keep a group of files up to date. It's very helpful when you have large amounts of people who need to keep up to date with the latest versions of the files. This makes it great for SRL, as it allows you to upgrade with only a click of a button, unlike previous versions where you had to download, unrar, and configure each version separately. SVN also helps the admins and devs save time; it can be updated and distributed very easily, which allows them to quickly release updates to fix any problems that should appear.

Detailed - I think even the dumbest of people could download it using this link.

I think that if they can't download Subversion, they shouldn't be using SCAR... I did make that tut on how to download SRL 4 Beta, though, so I shouldn't be saying anything ;)

I wouldn't have posted this if I'd known that Darky made a tut for this + more.

Just saw a few people having trouble getting SVN set up, so I figured I may as well make a quick pictut for it :p

Lol this tutorial was actually some use. The first time I downloaded the subversion, the install file didn't work and I just got all the files but it didn't install properly. Somehow this worked so thanks.

ok i did all this and then when i go into SCAR and dl from repository then click checkout the DOS comes up and then it waits awhile then goes away nothing happens

Thankyou very much! This helped me sooo much! I was trying to explain this to a friend through IM but this helped a lot! He still hasn't done it though, I asked him if he had and he said yes. Then I asked a bit later once a script didn't work and he said he hadn't done it.

i still dont understand tho, what is svn? how does it contain srl 4 rev 7? it looks to me like its just some program made my a different company that has nothing to do with srl. i just dont understand

Hey. For some reason I never get the Install thing to come out. i downloaded the stuff. The folder is full of files and I see a file that says 'Install' but when I click on it it asks me to use which program to open it with? I dont know how to get that to work. Any ideas?

I know SVN is good to keep your stuff updated but do bear in mind it's an explorer shell addon which does slow down your system.

Same thing happened for me. I downloaded Subversion from the Download section three times ! but it still didnt work for me then I searched and found this thread and now its installed and working properly :spot: :D
