How To Fix The "could not move plugins error"

Thanks, this was a big help! Run as administrator worked for me.

i've done everything you said but im still getting the same error...

woot kept trying to get it to work, right click on it and ran as administrator, and it worked awesomely :P

i deleted all the scars from my program files but when i search it threw my whole comp. a whole bunch of scripts, includes, plugins, etc show up and i cant delete them..

Simple quick-fix. I used this when I got that error..

windows vista computer (dum parents bought it)
i have NEVER had an older version of SCAR or SRL but checked anyway
i am an admin, hell im the only user
STILL has errors moving files

help me plz to fix it

fixed the problem,
forgot to 'run as administrator'
god im so teenager, lol

Log onto the Administrator account. Right click on whatever program you want to open. Click 'Run As Administrator'. Input the password if you have one, otherwise just click allow. Viola, that how you run something as Admin :)

You said to delete scar... And I did... So now I don't have scar...
I take it I did something wrong even though you did say "Now right click on it and put delete."

EDIT:

Did you mean I have to uninstall everything then install a fresh version of everything? If that's the case I've done this at least 5-10 times no joke and it still does same error.

im comming up with the same problem. and i cant run any scripts
but when i went to uninstall SCAR 3.14 it wouldent delete everything, so i did it manually and i still cant uninstall everything, the SCAR itself is still there and it wont let me delete it, just all the other files are gone.
what should i do?

Only worked when i ran as admin.

ok i dont know how to post a screen shot if anyone could tell me i would, but a window pops up when i right click on scar and press run as... it has 3 diffrent check boxes and 2 are already check. one is saying protect my comp for viruses and another is use this user ....user name followed by numbers.... the last check box says us the following user then it has a box for a user and another box for password.plz help me i have not autoed for over 1 month because of the can't move pulgins error.

OK I was getting the error and I did everything it said here but it isn't working. Can someone just tell me what I need to move and to where and I'll do it manualy?

EDIT: OK, I figured it out. Close scar and then open it as admin. Do this by right clicking then choosing "run as administrator".

if you get the plug-ins error, this is what you need to do: (using vista)

1. right click scar.
2. click 'Run as Administrator'
3. Tools.
4. Options.
5. SRL Download.
6. Checkout.
DONE.

hm... I did what u said infact I just installed all of it last night so I have no past versions on my computer.. I got the error msg u are talking about. While watching the install window I noticed what it said.. Here is what is said.

I had the exact same problem, i removed the old scar off my pc, then i restarted... then i right clicked the new scar and clicked run as adminstrator then checked out and it worked for me :(h):

I'm running vista on a new computer and i'm getting the 'could not move plugins' error i AM the administrator and have no other versions of scar.

Yea but still.

Try this:

Delete your whole scar folder and uninstall scar.

Download Scar 3.14 again.

Right click scar and run as admin even though you are the admin of the computer.

Go to tools/options/srl-download/checkout.

thanks i used run as administrator and it's all working fine now.

I had been trying for an hour to fix this problem and then i found your tut and it took me 5 minutes to fix X_x haha thanks alot =)

Thanks, I fixed me problem by right clicking the SCAR program and select "Run as Administrator".

And for Vista Users i advise u checkout in administrative mode and when your changing the revisions through Scar you Run Scar as an administrator first

I am gettin the couldn't move plugins to srl folder. I tryed to follow a guide but I didn't know what to manually copy over. Also I get this error everytime I try to run a script

Line 4: [Error] (6:11): Unknown identifier 'SmartIsKeyDown' in script C:\Program Files\SCAR 3.15\includes\SRL/SRL/Misc/SMART.Scar

Listen carefully all!
For those of you that does what he says, and it's still not working.
You need to uncheck UAC User Control.

To do this:
Start - Control Panel - User Accounts and family safety - click on User Accounts on the top of the page - Activate or Deactivate User Control.

This works!

Are you saying SCAR does not open or the script does not open?

In short, just run scar as an administrator (right click and "run as admin") and you'll be able to checkout.

Vista is such a pain, jesus...:f: VISTA CAN BURN IN THE FIERY LAKES OF BURNING AND SUFFERING :f: /rant well yeah I'm doing that now... thanks for the guide, hopefully I get it right the first time. :(
