I was thinking and i dont think it would work but hey its an idea,
So anyway could there be a way to make some sort of macro to automatically buy things at the lowest price and sell them high? the macro would have to run over a days time but if you had several running maybe you could actually turn a profit?
im sure that other ways of making some money would be much better... but ... just an idea
But no one buys for a high price anymore. We wouldn't be making money at all.
Steel Bars are 555 now. Thats almost 10% less (608) at the start of the GE.

It's a smart idea and does elliminate all the fuss of having to wait around selling things...but i see that as part of that challenge....pluss u would get a better price for things such as coal. BUT saying that obviously with the exchange now our wares for sale are open to a huge audience. It's a bit catch 22...because yes u can probably sell quicker and if u cn't sell quick u dn't have to worry u just leave it till someone wants it...but at the same time certain things are suffering in terms of the sale price! like i normally sold coal for 250gp ea now i get like 150-175 or summin. so i've moved onto mith!
i get 30,000 feathers a day from autoing, i put them on and the next day there all sold at 4ea
For the most part... I like it, but I have noticed some prices going down, which could be bad or good depending...

its seems ike the GE has made prices go down for ore, which is just about al i sell
some of the ore prices have gone up.... like gold ore which my little brother sells but he doesnt auto though
Ok this isnt good lol. Someone try searching for any dragon items such as a dragon med helm or platelegs. Does it show up as being an item? For me it said no matching items found. There is also no more barrows armor as well. Does anyone else have this same problem?

merchanting was already dead after they added the infinite amount thing a the shop... i think they got rid of it on purpose... they wanted everyone to work for what they wanted instead of just standing still and buying and selling stuff...

Some things are way underpriced (party hats) and some things are way overpriced. Anyways, now Jagex can control the economy like they want to.
The Grand Exchange, in my opinion, is the best made to RS2 this year! :)

18 gp for a rune essence = WTF I got so freaking pissed off from this. Before this 25 was a low price that sold always. The prices are f*cked. AARGH... :mad: :mad: :mad:

i like the GE
it is great for me being an avid pker
if i die or run low on food or pots not only is is a convenyent place but it is very fast and sometimes cheap
After using it for a bit, I have to say I like it..It has its draw backs. But quests are so much easier now, I can just buy all the crap that I need for them
I haven't really run into any problems with the grand exchange.
And the reason the GE wasn't set up so you can choose who you can to buy from and set a price limit is because people would use it as a way to transfer crap loads of money.
example-
Player A is giving Player B 100Mil.
Player B (in the grand exchange) sells a feather for 100Mil.
Player A then buys this feather (since I doubt anyone would buy a feather for 100Mil), thus finishing the transaction.
Player A has given player B 100Mil and a new way of buying/selling/trading gold is created.
i bought ranrra 7k ea b4 the exchange and made them into ppots and never had time to sell the ppots now i go around and ppots are 5k ea because everyone in the exchange is sellign on the low side now u can eazily go to the exchange and buy ppots at 5k ea and i lost like 2 m because of that :(

It seems to have its ups/downs.
I like this, it has made prices on raw goods go up = more gp from my autos
I love the Great Exchange.. so much easier to buy stuff, and i didnt merchant at all so it doesnt affect me
Not only does this make the low price of something constant but it almost sells instantly so im all for the grand exchange but it does make honast marketing harder... since typically people try to buy for the least ammount unless they are trying to get it fast...
i dont like the grand exchange cause the prices change bowstrings are down 40 gp :/ but its good for yew long makes

what's the current price on yews? and santas? what were their highest (in the last year)
I think the system is OK, the biggest problem is you don't know current availability or prices. You could set your price to 5 gp and someone sells for 4 and you will never buy it, If they really wanted the system to be good, they would use your set price as a maximum price and then buy the lowest price available, if two people want the same thing, make them bid against each other and whoever has the biggest max price wins.
With that in place, it would be great if they allowed more player control over the prices and maybe even a current price range next to the item (IE selling from 1gc to 2000gc)
As it stands, if your Item is semi rare (IE not not traded a lot but not worth much) it is very hard to find it. at the right price, you just try and buy wizard robes :(
I think they got the prices a bit wrong, really good for buying! But not all that good for selling =[
Actually it does give the seller the extra money... I put in a Guth Cloak just now for 600k and got 611k for it which is the current market price.Quote:

I think jagex need to add a bank PIN to the collection box of the GE.
My Pin saved me from losing about 20m about a week ago (forgot to take info out of a script I posted). All they got was 50k feathers that I didn't have in my bank. (I managed to auto that back + more in about 2 days).
its ok kind of messe up economy a lil though. A lot of things are in less demands, most stuff got cheaper for ex.: Full rune 160k-175 before now 140k-160k : ( And runes,ores,herbs etc. all gone down in price
