Err, it was already alot like pokemon to be honest. Repetitive and boring training, quests (gym masters), and many other factors.
Hmm, now that i think about it, it is like pokemon, summoning suddenly doesn't sound so cool...
nvr played pokemon, but many role playing games have the summoning option so i dont think its gay. I just hope it will spice up bounty hunter (which may in fact be the source of homosexuality) to make it kinda fun...
like a pure summoner that will just pwn noobs by summoning dragons and shit :D

I still believe Pokemon Blue & Red were one of the best games made. Not looking at how Pokemon is seen from us now. Those games are sill on my top list of great games in my life.

all the newer ones suck, diamond and perl wtf? I like the origional 151 :) but now theres like 345234523 and they had to resort to names like dikelamichia or stuff like that :mad: silly game makers. But ahh back to summoning. i think its kinda like cheating. Itll suck for anyone that doesnt have enough money for summoning or just doesnt feel like it.

Like Narcle said, pokemon is a great game (red and blue, I haven't play others) for all ages, only thing that blew the game up were the tv-series which where pointed at young players, suddenly, Pokemon wasn't cool anymore, so no-one of a higher age played it anymore.
The concept of pokemon is great, you gotta catch 'monsters' in a ball, and use them to fight, etc...
Actually, I don't think the summoning will be like pokemon, cuz Jagex themselves said that ur monsters will not only help you in combat, also in other skills (and quests probably...)
Besides, people have always suggested summoning in runescape, seems that Jagex is listening to us (points to the 17-Dec-2007 => Future Changes to Recent Updates)

Well even if they made it like Pokemon you gotta remember Jagex company are dumb asses with no ideas of their own. But they are smart in trying to copy a very sucessful franchize. Pokemon came out what...like 6 years ago, and they still are airing new episods I think.
Yup, pokemon was p00nage when i moved to sweden.. it was ''in'' for like 2 years then it was just fucked up.. but i think RS will make something LIKE pokeball.. and how about what attack the monster does and so on..
