wath wendt wrong when you are trying to play?
If you can plug usb sticks into the pc's, you can always get Scar 3.15 portable edition and run the install then move the folder onto the disk (after downloading SRL of course) and try to run it at school. If you can, just make a file that launches SMART and play via that.
I tried using sites to go around the proxy servers. It seemed to have errors in the java when it was loading. Im not the best at computers so im not sure.
and thanks mixster i'll give that a try
Besides installing something (different browser, mixters idea, ect) no.
I dunno but in our school, if we dl something = insta-caught.
could you run a runescape client from a usb?
www.google.com --> Translator --> Enter in www.runescape.com --> Select English to English (For page translation) --> Hit enter!
They can't blacklist Google can they? ^^
(Too lazy to test..:P)
I have no idea sorry but maybe you did what they say wrong but just trying to help.
i like the google translate idea!, and jhon smith, please don't double post (posting right after your own post) cause that's like ten time worse then me, spamming, like usual. lol
That would be because most proxy sites disable java, javascript etc.
Wouldn't work. I have tried. The RuneScape client still connects to www.runescape.com. The RuneScape Client also is Internet Explorer btw.
Good Idea. I might have to try that as well. But, although they don't block www.google.com, I think they might block the translator page. Besides, although it's a different url, it's still connecting to www.runescape.com, so it would still be blocked I think.
do they block java and downloads at your guys' schools? we don't have blocks for video games..
have you tryed torpark? its a firefox based browser which you could run from a usb and i don't think they would be able to block it because it uses tor so everything gets encrypted before the blockers can see it, then it gets bounced off 4ish tor servers and unencrypted at the last one. loading takes a while because of the bouncing but i don't think theres any way they could block it when they cant see what it is...
you can get torpack from hear <----the link
just posting bored lol :(h):
just install portable firefox and portable tor on to your flash drive...
there is a guide in the forum in tutorial->computer help->security
or something like that.... to lazy to post a link... and most school block the google language tools...
What about if they blocked runescape and other gaming websites then what could you do?
Would a proxy work with RS? o.o
It works with Youtube and Myspace. :S
I have something like that, ░░░░░ had a tutorial on something like that. You download portable firefox and portable tor.
If you want, you could then even leave your computer on at home, with LogMeIn up, go to school, remote access it from school using firefox and tor, and just play runescape from there. ^_^
What do you mean? I don't quite understand. Do you mean do they block flash and java games, and us downloading stuff at school? If so, then no. They just very picky when you download something that isn't anything other than a .txt or .doc file, or any other Office Program file.
I once downloaded a .html file, and, well, I told someone, who told someone else etc., and they were threatening to close off the internet at our school, all because I downloaded a .html file....I guess it was because I found the flash games file thing, where it's blah-blah.swf, saved it to notepad as a .html, so I could play the game without having to go to the now blocked website. :p
Umm....wth?
I totally agree!
As ░░░░░ said, just download portable tor and firefox via the tutorial, then log-on to logmein, remotely access your home computer, and just play from there.
If you mean, where you login to runescape and it changes your ip address, depending on what tor you use, yes and no. Portable tor doesn't change it if you are still using your same computer you normally do. It's only for like other things like blocked websites, and www.whatismyip.com etc. Damn Jagex and their IP finding capabilities! lol
Oh, and by the way, Myspace FTL!
Damn Straight.
I don't ignore them. :p
thanks ^^
you don't even need to use my logmein thing.... you can just use the tor and firefox... and directly open runescape with less the hassle...
and i didn't make that firefox tor tut so you might want to change the to the actual author...
here is the guide for all those people who are too lazy to find it...
this works at my school when i tipe in www.runescape.com i just miss the www.
so its
runescape.com
Wow......your school must really be lazy.
Some browsers automatically put in the www. after it connects to the website.
Try this, https://gtfo.in
just type what site you want to visit and press go
make sure you type https with the S.
Thats true lesser demon i know mine does anyways
in my opinion (and at my school) proxys work better then downloading something off my usb.
there are some great proxys on the web but they are far and few between. u just gotta look for them.
im not sure if im allowed to say them on the forums but there are some great ones out there :p
-Handy-
Its probably because school accounts are non- administrator. One more thing you should try is on the detail select go to the very bottom and changed "SIGNED APPLET" to "UNSIGNED APPLET" This solved to problem for me.
Matt
go to download.com, downloadable proxies worked great for me, downloading onto a memory stick, and play via that, wont work for some computers that use citrix though, wont launch.
Perhaps a cgiproxy would work for this? The firefox addon, switchproxy can prove useful.
Well first off whats the problem? Is the site blocked? No java?
If the site is blocked then you could probaly use a proxy server. There are a ton of those. Just google "Proxy Server"
If the computer does not have java, then your in a pinch because most likely your not an admin, so your going to have a problem trying to download java.
Good Luck.
P.S At my school Runescape is not blocked, and there are programs that use Java on the computer already, so I can play Runescape ok.
Wow. Nice. ^_^
you could always try to get the main passcode for the firewalls lol.
or just use the usb idea. it seems like it would work:p
The proxies will not work.
And the teacher can check the computers history of where youve been.
Via usb port.
Btw they block runescape from translations.
I know where you live BUMMMMMMPPP!
Personnaly, if your in high school, or advance middle school, you probbaly have a computer room...for computers/programming...that is normally on its own board for obvious reasons and has its own LAN. if you do, try the usb or just playing, because blocks may be different, and if not...you will have more freedom then using like the library. i can get on in the tech room very easily, being as it is its own lab :)
I use scar scape at school.
