Its sick, people dont believe in sacrifice for the greater good anymore, you know who the founding fathers are? When they were declaring independence from Britain they were risking their lives, money, land, and way of life. They did it anyway and created the greatest country on the earth today. Even after the war the US dollar wasnt worth anything until easily 1786, the dollar was not stable for even longer than that. Radical change takes time, people seem to forget that, also there are people in Iraq trying to keep that change from taking place. Things don't just magically happen.
If that is true then why are we paying nearly 4$ a gallon? Also we dont need oil from over there. You know who is keeping the price of oil up? The ENVIRONMENTALISTS sure we can keep our world clean but when we dont put out as many pollutants as the earth itself does you cant blame "climate change" on America, who is'nt even the worlds leading polluter http://www.useless-knowledge.com/123...rticle115.html We should be able to drill on our own land, ever heard of Oil Shale? It is more expensive and harder to get than normal oil, but at this point it would be cheaper. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12400801/ - Price of crude oil http://ostseis.anl.gov/guide/oilshale/index.cfm - Oil Shale/extraction http://www.dailyreckoning.com/rpt/OilShale.html Oil Shale/reserves
Do you remember when people in Iraq were voting? All the death threats people got? While i haven't read up on Hamas and how the election was carried out, that is how these people get voted in. Them not a terrorist organisation? They claimed to have been involved in many suicide bombings directed at civilians and officials. Organizations who target civilians in an attempt to scare the population, are known as terrorists.Quote:
As for the Isreal,
you know who else has democracy in that region, Palestinians have voted in a party called Hamas, and yet Isreal and America claim its undemocratic, they say its a terrorist group and continue to kill its people,
lets say it is a terrorist group, its what the people want, its a democracy,
democracy means the people choose, and if the people choose a "terrorist" group, then so be it.
so don't go around pretending democracy is exclusive to US-supported countries.
umm no, do some research before spouting off. The death toll for Katrina was just under 2000 people, not all were known to be killed by floods, or even other people, but they died during that time frame so were counted, there were a little over 2500 people total missing/confirmed dead... People of America dont care about that? Do you have any idea how much money and support was sent there? Many of my friends went to New Orleans to help, San Antonio (where i live) took in lots of people in the Alamodome, and sent lots of help. While it is true that I personally did not do anything, to have the audacity to say that i do not care about my fellow Americans is despicable. I am a huge patriot, my brother is going into the military and i am extremely proud of him, he has found his calling in serving this country.Quote:
as for 9/11,
the death toll there was just under 3000 people,
who remembers Hurricane Katrina? the death toll was at least 4000, but it doesn't get nearly as much news coverage
the people of America do not care about what happened in New Orleans,
don't tell me its not true, you know you don't care about the people who died in New Orleans, whether you'll admit it to us is a different story.
