Broadband Speeds

Well i was so bored at work to day i decided to do some broadband speed tests today to just see how good it is.

I would like other people to do the same and post there results, its just interesting to do, so if you dont want to i dont mind, oh and i bet there will be a person that says or think i want to hack them or something or even that i am from jagex.

just go to www.speedtest.net and run a test to see what you get, after the test is done copy the forum link on here and we can have a look.

Holy f*ck.. your employer has a nice connection there... 8Mbps down, 5Mbps up.. /me wants


& my internet isn't to good currently, max @ 180kB/s down, 45kB/s up. Going to upgrade to 3Mbps down & 768 up soon tho.

It is easy to fool those ;)


But nice! Mine is about 1kbps up, 1kbps down :D

you worked it out wrong, it aint 8mb, its actually 80mb , so that means the upload is 50mb

didnt know you could fool them, but i didnt, this is the actual speed i have here, but then again i aint surprised seeing as i work at BT.

you should see my home connection on a good day i can get 50kb/s

i think it's ok for me :)

note that aussies don't have that fast internet lol, and adsl 2+ is gay.

EDIT: Just found out that it was another person with my new ip, dw :P
EDIT2: and yeah, you're work net is alright, but then again you would expect that for a good buisness. Just a note, use that net if you ever need to buy tickets for the soccer world cup. :)

thats not a bad connection you have to school, 49mb down and 9 mb up, that really aint bad, pitty they block alot of good downloading

lol, our school dosent block anything, I play RS with Firefox, they have blocked Java stuff in normal internet, I just dl firefox and play :D also heres my speed at home http://www.speedtest.net/result/282177359.png

wish most school are more relxed, but i know firefox gets pass most thing but downloads can still be blocked.

what type of connection do you have to home then?

Belgium is a telecom disaster, it's like living in the stone age, we pay huge prices for crappy connections... My ISP is the largest ISP in Belgium, we have the second best DSL package and our downloadspeed is 3.3mpbs and upload 400kpbs...

thats kinda like my home connection the, except its 50kb down dont know the upload but it aint better

Well, ironically the small ISP's offer, compared to the large ones, incredible packages, well, almost close to as good as in other countries at "affordable" prices...

My long distance and short distance tests came out pretty much the same. Maybe about 50kb difference. I guess my internets just gud like dat to handle long and short distance the same :garfield: lol.
