Hello,

Most of you have probably noticed the news in SCAR lately...

Ever since the beginning SCAR has had a pretty undetailed and crappy manual... Now, people sometimes complain about that, but I don't have the time to create a detailed one myself... However, there are loads of very experienced scripters amongst you who have loads of experience with these functions. There for I started the open documenting project in an attempt to create a self-sustaining SCAR documentation that is written by SCAR's users. If you would like to help with this, it would be very much appreciated. The manual is part of the Freddy1990.com Wiki. You will need to PM me on my forums and request a Wiki Writer title to be able to edit it though (to protect against vandalism).

Now, you can also help in another way... After SCAR 3.20 is released there won't be many new versions anymore because I'm planning to finally quit the 3.xx series and start developing SCAR 4.0. I made the plans for SCAR 4.0 quite a while back, almost a year now, even started coding, but I bumped into a problem... SCAR 4.0 is supposed to feature a completely new and improved user interface which is built up out of pay-components which will greatly improve the user experience. Now, I spend loads of my free time developing SCAR, so I'm sorry, but buying these components myself really isn't an option... So I hope that donations will be sufficient to purchase these components... Also with sufficient donations I'll also be throwing in an auto-updater as I'll be able to use the donations to pay part of my site as well so I don't need people to go there every time to download SCAR and click ads anymore... When you donate while logged into your forum account the donation will be registered to that account and you will receive a Donator title on the forums, as well as your donated amount will be displayed there. Once the system is entirely finished (at like 85% atm) there will also be a top 10 donator list on the donate page. Currently the donate page already holds the goals list which shows the current donating goals, at the moment only 1 component is listed there, it shows a progress bar to indicate how close we are to getting sufficient donations to purchase it. Also most goals will show a link to a page listing some of the main features that they will provide the user with. You can find the donations page here. Be sure to check out the current goal's features, maybe that will convince you to pitch in a little. :) (Also thanks to Janilabo who has already donated $80)

The idea is to write an online manual. Once that's somewhat in decent shape I can possibly write a parser that will take parts of it to turn into a new offline manual.

K, also including SRL & Smart? If it's only scar would you rewrite all those functions, procedure's more detailed?

Ehh, Id ruther not write a manual i suck hard at explaining. But might aswell start something and someone can fix my beutiful writing :P.

or

yeah... i want to donate too but i dont have a paypal for one (some weird shit happened with my brothers debit) and im too young for a legit one, and i aint got a job...could i find someone who would pay your paypal (or whatever) directly and say its on behalf of me?

do you have to get everything from that page? or can you get each individual component as you get the money for it (to keep you busy :p)?
i hope thats not the only different thing from the form editor :p.

if i had online money i'd donate, but i doubt my parents would give me their credit card to do so :(.

Everything on that page is included in the $560, it has to be payed in total, but it's far from all features, for example, the form editor will look and work pretty much exactly like in Delphi.NET, it will also have a new and better inspector and such... There's gonna be more goals on the page though, but atm that's the most important one, I'm also looking into having a new icon designed and such, kinda searching for the best price on that... I'll also be donating from ad money myself...

Not a problem at all, it's a really small thing compared to what you have done for all of us past these months from your spare time, too bad not so many over here in SRL realize that...

People, SCAR Scripters & Users, there is so much more Freddy could add in SCAR, if you just could support him even a bit with donating some money - it shouldn't be a problem for most of us. Like Freddy said, buying the components and other stuff for SCAR from his pockets is not going to be an option, which of course is understandable.

I found these small examples of what we COULD get with the component (that is a current goal in Freddy1990.com donations page) to script/form editor, just imagine people... Together we can reach the goal, it's not that far away.

Like I said, Freddy has done so much already for us... ..so guys and gals, don't you think now it is time for us to help him with SCAR Divi project? I am ready to support the project as much as I can.

Anyone else think he should get site supporter? 160 dollars is a huge amount, and its going to scar, which will in turn help srl.

It will take at least the first goal for me to get started on SCAR 4, though preferably the second one would be achieved as well (I might be able to pinch $70 off of the second one with an academic license, but I'll keep it at the max total and try to get academic when it's sufficient, the system will compensate when i enter the final spent amount, that's why there's a +/- infront of the totals)

Yeah, i see: Script Editor & Form Designer. Wouldn't that be Delphi? BTW, i can donate if people use my AW Surveys referral. Since i had received money from them and i had used that money to donate to SRL (before i even knew you were accepting donations) ;).

They're GUI components for SCAR, they have nothing to do with Delphi 2007, it just looks like the ones used in there, they were modeled after Delphi 2005 afaik

I can only take paypal payments, any other online money account is useless since everything uses either credit card or paypal =/

I'm atm looking up my e-gold account, but reviving login e-mail usually takes like ... long, very long sometimes... and looks like thistime it ain't gona get into my inbox in 15 mins, something wrong with e-gold mail service imo..

So do you got e-gold account(yeah, i know you wrote something about accepting paypal) But if you got e-gold acc, you can have all what's on it..maybe few cents maybe few bucks..

Well, I doubt Janilabo is as rich as you claim, he's just committed to helping me with SCAR... And is is possible to transfer e-gold to paypal? Because I can't buy these components with e-gold...

Yeah, I am not that rich at all (I am below average..), like Freddy said, I am just trying to help. ..and Negaal, you don't need shitload of money for donating, every amount helps to get closer to goals.

Is this thread being ignored - somehow I have a feeling it is? Come on SCAR scripters, wake up.. With your help/support we could get all these great features, that would make SCAR scripting even more enjoyable!

Also notice the nice Wiki Freddy made for us, it still needs a lot of SCAR-based stuff. :)

I wish there was an alternative way of donating (such as gp) but i guess this isnt possible... also i read the history of SCAR in the wiki, idk why i love it :D
