Rune ess-Sell or not?

Hey guys,
I was wandering if I should sell all my ess right now or wait till the price goes higher. The price is currently dropping 1gp everyday. If I sell it at today's price (44gp) I will earn 1mill and 12k. Btw, I have 23k ess so yea. And if I sold this at a price 2 weeks ago (65gp) I would make 1.5mill Now I'm wandering if I should just sell the ess or keep mining untill the price goes up? I am afraid because the price is continuosly decreasing so I am not sure what to do. :confused:

All opinions appreciated :D

Essence prices are stabilizing, and might rise again. I suggest you wait a bit :)

Wizzup released it the 17th of Aug, and the prices fell from 65 to 50 in 10 days!

haha so true... that shows how much autoing influences the economy, just imagine this before all these new updates =]

A lot of that is probably due to the new runecraft minigame being released, and a million people trying to get their level up to 50 to check it out.

My guess is that it will continue to drop all the way back down to the previous level before stabilizing.

yeh it was the minigame that did it, i say sell now. they can only go down.

You could either sell it now, or wait for Wizzup?'s Ess Miner to stop working, and for the price to go back up. I'd probably just carry on mining, and wait until the script stops, but that'll probably be in months, but I think you'll make more money per ess if you wait.

Do you guys really believe that with all of the Java bots out there, Wizzup?'s script really influences the prices at all? I would like someone to quote how many essence are traded every day. At least in the 500k + a day section. Maybe even a million essence in a full 24 hours on some days. Now you tell me how maybe a hundred people using a script and selling the ess would affect a million + essence sold per day.

Yea, so it probably wasn't really Wizzup?'s miner well his miner might have affected "a bit".

I just found out I got a 10 day ban.. and unfortunately by Wizzup?'s script, but I don't blame him because I pretty much over used the script. The BIGGER problem is now in 10 days the rune ess price is going to drop!:(
I am screwed, because I didn't sell my 24k ess yet -_-

Does anyone else know how to prove how much ess is sold a day? I would like to continue proving wizzup?'s script has nothing to do with it..

Yes. But it would still be cool to know how much rune ess is sold per day.

My new estimate is about 2-3 Mil. It seems reasonable. X Amount of players selling about 2k per day, sometimes more than that.. Should be a reasonably high number of ess per day sold and used.

ok check this out.. I mine at least 1k ess a day on each character.. so if 100 people use wizzups scripts to get around 1k ess on each char, and lets say they have at least 3-4 chars.. that's hmm

Haha. You seriously think 100 people use the same script.. on 3-4 chars. To get 4k Ess.. I think it takes like.. 5-6 hours.. no? So even if 100 people autoed for more than 6 hours, they would only get 300-400k ess per day, not including bans, randoms, deaths. This equals 300 (Because of the above, probably this, or lower)/ 2000... 0.15. Basically 1/7.

If 1/7 of the ess out there comes from Wizzup's script. It seems like a lot. But consider half of them are selling for lowest probably. So 1/14 are trying to lower the price. While the other 13/14 of RS are trying to raise the price or keep it constant.

So clearly, although my estimates are probably off by some, I think we can safely conclude that 1/14 of RS (7% of RS, 140k essence) Is a small amount if you pursue the big picture of 2 Mil ess sold (guesstimate) per day.

E: Which is why I would like to know how to find out how much Ess is being sold, so I can say this for sure.

E2: AHAH! I just found it out. By looking at the top 100 most traded. There is about 17 Million Pure ess sold per day. There is 10.4 Million ess sold per day aside from that. And you honestly believe 400k ess sold by us makes a dent?

I could explain the math, if my explinations were bad.

Basically, out of the 100 people using wizzup?'s script, I will say half and half are selling Pure ess / Normal ess. This leaves us with 50 /50.

Now, in order to find the percentage that his script makes up, you need to find how much essence we are producing. As Jesus45 said, about 400k ess is produced by us per day.

So then we split that 50/50. 200k Pure ess, 200k Normal ess.

Then we look at the numbers. 18 Million Pure ess sold per day, 10 Million Normal ess sold per day.

To get the percentage, we divide our ess, by the total ess.

1% For pure ess (0.01111). 2% for normal ess (.02).

So therefore, we are making 1%/2% of the ess sold.

Now. Also assuming that only half of the noobs are selling for lowest (which is the only way to lower the price), we now have .5% and 1% of the essence made going towards lowering the prices.

Do you honestly believe that those numbers would budge the market at all? No. We have no effect on the numbers at all.

1% of the market CAN make a significant difference. Lots of ess is just merchanted.
And remember the clanchat update last year, when SRL was down for two weeks and ess prices rose from the 25ea to the 45ea.

Yes. But the actual cause of rise was the Runecrafting minigame. Then it gradually went down to normal. I think it can be considered that .5% - 1% of the market can not bring down the price so significantly.
