Ugh!

Reading this thread made me curious, so I headed over to check out RSBot.

Made my head spin. For the simple reason I know Pascal I don't know Java. Learning to script AND learn Java at the same time? Oh My!

Scar and SRL has a LOT of flaws but I'll take it warts and all for now. Still I like the fact that it came with a bunch of scripts right out of the gate.

The "These are our scripts, and we'll tell you how great they are, but no you can't see 'em. Learn to script if you want some" attitude in the scar related forums (not just these forums) gets tired after a while.

Not going to read the another new pages, so just to make it clear, RSBot is a client hacking bot, it is not a reflection bot.

Sometimes these two are called Reflection and Injection, the latter one being the hacking one. Injection bots inject accessor methods to their RuneScape.jar that they use for the game, when reflection bots usually just read it from the server's RuneScape.jar. Accessor methods could be explained in SCAR like this -

It's very simple, very easy, and quite convenient.

You have to limit your autoing time though.
Only using it for amounts of time you would actually play RS.

PROTIP: Randoms cause sudden lag spikes + crashing and scripts tend to be poorly coded, aka. it gets lost, does dumb things or wanders around to some random spot and just stands there until it logs out and then logs back until you stop it.

Also, if there's a pick axe handle nearby it automatically picks it up (or atleast did for me) and gets stuck standing there searching for the head etc. etc. stuff...

Basically it's a good bot but the random event handling and scripts need some work, as the scripts are easy as piss to make (atleast make them do something) so alot of noobs make scripts for it meaning there are many scripts with poor mainloops or so and bad logic so it tends to fail more often than SCAR.

About 90% of the scripts have failed me almost each time I've tried, only the most famous ones work properly for me.

Still a great and fast bot, but nowhere as reliable or undetectable as SCAR (random mess-ups + if it gets lost due to the messing up it'll just keep logging in and waiting until out and repeat that until... false :p And I don't see that undetectable or reliable at all).

E: ROFL at that virus thing. All have been coded in visual basic. RSBot it java.

Yeah. Also SCAR is easier to compile scripts. I like the challenge over at these forums more. :)

I think Reflection is a great way for SCAR to keep up with Java bots! It was doing fine of course but reflection and smart helped.

Perhaps you got banned from the scar autoing. You get banned maybe a week after you autoed.

That's a good point. Most of the time it isn't the program, its the script.

You could bot for a day with a Scar script and banned. Client hacking isn't insta-ban.

I tried that, on one account and it flagged my IP. Next month my 10 character army was banned.

Yes, RSBot phales in the scripting category, but really. It's very fast! And there's little to set up.

Once you learn that you can't auto 9 hours straight on the same account, it's fine.

Hint for RSBot users: ONLY auto for the amount of time you would actually play RS.

I like rsbot, it's fast and a few of my attempts at scripting with it actually worked really well.

It's just much too detectable.
