Fishing... WC is so lame, everyone does it, the prices are so low because 80% of all rs players WC and sell for minimum price on ge. Fishing is way more entertaining and valuable. (Especially if your catching lobbies and swordies)
Personaly i would pick fishing because usualy to many people at trees.. and then you have to be looking for a good world such a pain...
WC, faster to lvl up and fishing is so boring...... in wc u get to fight, pick up nests and run away from ents.... and its easier to auto i tihnk =P
Once your a high lvl: Fishing
When you are 30-60: Woodcutting

Personally, I think higher leveled f2p woodcut is more rewarding with the price of yews, and with f2p fishing your limited to lobsters and swordfish which can only be caught at Musa point. That makes it take longer to bank, and make money.
P2P, on the other hand, I haven't had as much experience in, but fishing might start to be a better/ equal option.
Overall, I would say about
Fishing: 30%
Woodcutting: 70%

In F2P I would say woodcutting and P2P fishing.
woodcutting is less boring but with the pvp servers fishing is making a comeback

I think fishing is the best because you can use the fish for food which I think is the most important thing in the game.
wc definitly. i had two pures, both wc and fisher. i fished till like 65 and got realllllllly bored. i had fished lobs, swordies and ended up doing salmon and trout..thats how bored i got. eventually i started a wcer pure and went to 80 something wc. much more fun
For free to play, you're way better off woodcutting than fishing.
The opposite is true for pay-to-play.

F2p: WC all the way, fishing is useless imo, too far from bank, and you can only fish lobs and swords at karamja
P2p: Fishing all the way, at fishing guild the money is amazing, plus the amount of people fishing does not affect you

It depends on what you want you want to do with the skills...
Fishing used for food as well as having a high position in the RS market
Woodcutting used for flectching, firemaking, alching and sales
But I personally prefer fishing
Fishing is less boring and with the PvP update the raws/cooked fish are selling for alot. Woodcutting is a bit boring and the logs (not including Magics) sell for absolutely nothing. And magics require like 75(?) woodcutting so goodluck getting there and then finally making money.

They have the adventure ring now to speed it up for fishing.
Woodcutting: 20% (Cause if there is alot of people then trees get chopped down very fast, very hard to get logs)
Fishing: 80% (Can share same fishing spot without it going away :D)
i say fishing since i can do it unattentively whereas in wc i have to click a new tree fairly often. Also the new pvp update has made fish prices go up
