Mhm, plants/the chlorophyll absorbs all colors EXCEPT green, that's why they look green since they reflect it. so if you took it away from the white light (light from sun being on the windowsill), and then got a green bulb right over top of it you could slowly decrease it's growth/eventually kill it... If i found out you destroyed my plants on purpose, i would destroy your computer... don't be an ass, keeping plants is very therapeutic and it can be emotional when they die, think about it... they could be the only thing keeping you from getting wacked in your sleep(understand the way you want), and if he found out you did it on purpose... well i would be dangerous..
Salt is your best bet. If you do 2 parts salt and 2 parts water, nothing will ever grow in that soil again. :stirthepot: If you wanted to, you could do 3 parts salt and 1 part water...that would defiantly take out the plant. Happy plant killing lol
Put salt in the pot, just hide it well. Should kill the plants, atleast killed my teachers ones when I was in 5th grade (was an accident, really.. Sort of, but didn't know they'll die atleast) :( She was pretty pissed off.
Get soil with no magnesium in it. Without magnesium, plant will slowly die due to being unable to produce chlorophyll. That will slowly turn it yellow and he will think to water more and by doing so will remove the little nutrients left in and thus lead to its demise. This way is much more ownage because it will be a slow, painful death for the plant and can be easily redone again and again without him noticing (by offering to pot his new plants when he gets them - not only does he think you're being nice, you can secretly make sure it dies!).

Bleach, Baking Soda, Pledge on the leaves, Vinegar, Ammonia, Lysol in soil all work, i had the exact some problem cept for roommate, was my brother... the baking soda water worked on 2 of them and then for fun the Pledge on leaves looks REALLY natural, and doesnt take to long

well i once put h202(hydrogen peroxide) in some of my moms bamboo plants and they like died the next day, it's suposed to help plants in small doses but i put in like 3 tablesppons so it killed em.
im liking the agent orange lol... my first thought was a salt/bleach/ A LOT OF KNO3 (potassium nitrate, salt peter(available at gardening stores)) was also thinking have a party in your room, get drunk, "accidentally" knock plant over during party, was also thinking, if you kill it, he gets another one, and that one dies, and he gets another, he might start to think some one is messing with his plants, there fore planting a bug (sound or video, either/or) so watch out lol...

Heat table salt (NaCl) to get sodium(Na). Make sure you do thin in an open area or the chlorine gas will end you.
Place the sodium in his potted plants, and wait until he waters them... heh.. heh... heh...

hey brain long time no talk, by now shouldn't the plant be dead? if not try using sparklers in the soil and light them and let them burn down it burns the roots of the plants i have personally done this at a camp :D
Depending on how big the plant box is, you could water it with salt water, then microwave it (if you have a microwave oven) for a bit, just leaving the salt behind.

He brought ANOTHER plant in....
So now he freaking has THREE (3) of them!!!!
And the ones I have been salt watering for the last week are still going strong...
I think I need some more drastic methods, I might try to swipe some chemicals from the janitor....

Well I thought he watered them everyday, it turns out you only water them once a week. So he started to ask if I was watering them, since they were still soaked days after he watered them last...since I had salt watered them 3 days straight... I made the excuse that it just got colder here and cold air has a lower saturation point than warm air, so I said it was probably because it evaporates slower. I think he bought it...Quote:

surely detergent will kill the plants.. the reason being is detergents have the foaming agent such as sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) or sodium lauryl sulphate which can cleave the protein molecules present in the cells converting them into peptides by breaking the chemical bondings.. how can a plant survive without protein?

I'm sure you can 'procure' some of those from your chemistry lab. Shouldn't be too hard.
Try taking a picture of the plant, some plants can live very long in high concentrations of salt, and other chemicals.

You should post some pics of what the plants look like and the surrounding area so that we can come up with more ideas. Like if it is a certain type of plant there might be an easy way to kill it?
Seriously just throw it in a freezer for an hour and it will get frost bite and die...unless it is a really hardy plant.
I don't remember if this was suggested but try using boiling salt water instead of just cold salt water. This allows you to pack like three times more salt into the water and the heat will really hurt the plants.
Iodine and cornstarch. There isn't a reaction, but the starch holds the iodine so it can be absorbed. Or you can use the type of Drain Cleaner that is mostly sulfuric acid, it will eat away the roots. It also contains an inhibitor to prevent too much heat from being created. You could also use Lye (pretty pure) that you could probably buy... Anywhere? Mix it with water and wash it off your hands, quick :) (Don't spill the Sulfuric Acid Drain Cleaner on you, either)
I will take pics later when he goes to band. So far I have salt watered them (hot tap) and put concentrate laundry detergent in them.

piss on it. thats what i did when when i was small in my backyard, parents got pissed cause there werent any plants left.
This may be a lil messy, but be as clean and neat as possible so it's not noticable...
you will need about 3 or 4 of those cheap lighters (the ones you can adjust the flame) - Dollar Store FTW! :p
gently dig your way down to the roots, try and find a few of the bigger ones (small ones may be a lil mor difficult) choose 2 or 3 of them, and give a tiny lil snip (razor will work best) now take your lighters, and for each root you snipped, unscrew the lighter ALL the way (the fluid will shoot out so make sure you aim it at the root) it will not only shoot fluid into the root, but will also freeze it ;) now cover it back up and fix the soil so it looks like it was touch ;)
afterwards, you can also try unscrewing a lighter and dropping it in a cup of water (diluted lighter fluid? :P ) then water the plants with that...
NOTE: make sure you have either an open window or a fan and some car airfresheners jus incase ;) IF there is any smell, it should be gone in 30 mins or so...
