Hey,
So, one of my favorite old pkers was banned while I was raising his range. So I had heard that writing how you are going to commit suicide in your appeal was an instant get-back. Well, it didn't work, and cops showed up at my house (I had told my brother what to do, so he wrote the appeal) and scared the crap outa him with a good talking-to. Yeah so, don't do that, they can figure out where you are very quickly! (Within 4 days I think with me).
search all threads for the user brian, there was a big thing over this.
He had to take a sanity quiz also. And over 2k in medical bills.

You couldn't just tell them that you were lying? It isn't as if it is illegal to lie on an appeal.
If they didn't have a warrant you could make them leave.

That's kind of embarrassing (for your brother lol)... but I would just say "Was joking, sorry for wasting your time" or something like that.
It's not like lying on the internet is illegal. Hell, it usually isn't illegal in real life either :s
Hmm... I've been thinking - What happens if you go to like a friends house and send a suicide appeal :rolleyes: Or someplace like the library, but there they probably wouldn't even bother checking.
Back Ontopic: Wow, they're really taking these things seriously >_< That sucks for you/your brother. @Above posts, yeah, lieing isn't illegal, but if you tell someone 'I'm going to shoot you if you don't bring me $10', but then the cops come after you, do you really think they'll let you off after you say 'I was just kidding'? ;)
Wow this is messed up I didn't think jagex cared that much lolz. I think it was more of a hassle for them than to just unbann silly tho.

You should remember that if you play on the account with your ip. for a long time and then just send in the appeal from another they can easily figure out which ip. to trace..
Jagex has to report any of that kind of an activity.. Since it is for your own godo tho.

yes, make sure you do your appeal on an account with more than 2 computers actively playing. so for example if you play rs 3/4 of the time at the library and 1/4 at your house then send the appeal from the library... then the library is in for a surprise. It is possible that they send to your other ip, so basically suicide appeals just arent a good idea. Did it get denied or was it still pending?

Its a crime to commit suicide??? Murder? And what is attempted suicide supposed to be, if you have a stab wound, "Missed the turkey." Or a bullet hole(lol), "He went that way!!" I think its crazy for them to do that.

Really jagex is only keeping runescape for the money. They don't REALLY have a heart for people or kids playing out there.

Long story short; JageX makes a big deal over this situation because they don't want to be sued. I know for a fact that some of you read the stories of people dieing playing WoW, and family suing Blizzard... They don't want that. lol.
