We all know that some of you are good hax0rz, why dont u try to help out with this?
Try tamper data? I've never used the site so :(
Ive tried to sniff it, and I get the real .mp3 url, BUT it seems like when you click the song to listen to it, spotify (the program) sends a signal to the server (spotify.com) to open the .mp3 song and the user can listen, then the server closes this connection (all done in very short time) and the user is left to listen to the song, its like if you knock on a door, they open the door, they leave something on the ground, and u get it after they close the door...
Its a lil confusing, but thats pretty much how the whole thing works, what we need 2 do is send the signal over and over to keep the connection open, and get the mp3 file directly from the server (wich would be the HTTP url that u get from Spotify)
Never seen spotify but I'm assuming there's some flash media player thingie that plays the songs there? Why not try and decompile that?
E: Unless I'm wrong. Cba to check because I'm lazy.
Write a program to handle the URLs of the songs and have Firefox open your program instead of Spotify...
As far as I know, the only reason that Spotify opens when you go to a spotify link is that Firefox tells it to. You can tell firefox to open a different program if you want though. So you need to write a program that accepts those URLs then you can stream them and save it to an mp3.
You can do it in IE as well, just not sure how.
In firefox, Tools -> Options -> Applications. Type "spotify" without quotes into the search box.
Maybe it's just mean, but I can almost swear it's based on Songbird, or it least looks a *lot* like it.
Also, I'm not sure, but it probably just streams MP3s or AACs real-time. You could record the music, but then you may as well just record Pandora (or use Pandora's Box/Jar/whatever) for that matter
Edit: Wrote this when I was too tired, "mean" instead of "me"..
I don't know, I was thinking make your own. I'm not exactly sure what they get with links but you just have to figure out how they handle them, then you can make a program to handle them.
I don't know, whatever you think would work.
What language are you going to program it in, Niixu?
Pssh, I need an invite or something to get there.. Too lazy, can't check it.
E: Also, about the eariler post, I thought it was sort of like Deezer.
Download sound recorder max and record the song you play...
If you're just trying to download the song directly, I believe that there is a very easy way to do this... However I would have to have spotify to check. ^^
