How to setup Scar! (Everything)

Ok, this is a guide on how to setup scar with all of the options.. Reflection.. OpenDevSVN.. Subversion etc

I might add screenshots, depending on demand

I am going to be using Tortoise SVN because it is a lot better.
ok lets start.

Downloading Scar

First: Go to Freddy1990.com
Then: click Scar Free Download
Next: Scroll down and download the Normal Version
Click run.
Install it normally like you would another program.
Open Scar then File > Download SRL

Setting up Tortoise SVN OpenDevSVN

Go to: http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads
And download what you need.
Then install it normally.
Now go to your Scar folder > Includes
Delete everything in Includes
Make a new folder called SRL
Right Click on SRL (inside your includes folder)
and click: Checkout
A box should come up, there is a field saying something like: Url Repository.
Put in this field: http://www.villavu.com/repositories/srl-opendev/
Then click OK.

Setting up Tortoise SVN SRLRepositorySVN

Do the same as above but...
In the Url Repository field put:
http://www.villavu.com/repositories/srl/

Getting Reflection
Go into Scar *.** > Includes > Srl > Srl
Then create a folder : Reflection
Right click it > Checkout
Then in the Url of Repository field put:
http://scardevreflection.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/

SRL Dev Rev THROUGH Scar!
OK first you need scar 3.12 or above.
Next you need to download Subversion:

Install it.
Now go to your scar folder and do:
Right click>
New>
Notepad/word document>
Name it: SVN.ini
Press enter.
Now open up SVN.ini
and copy and paste this:

Link=http://www.villavu.com/repositories/srl-opendev/

---

Save it.
Go into Scar>
Tools>
Options>
SRL Download>
Subversion Repository>
Now click Checkout.
Now whenever you want to update the Dev Rev
just go
File>
Checkout
Done!

Getting DevSVN when you got error before
ok this is if you got errors while trying the other method.
make a folder on your desktop called SRL.
right click it and go checkout.
then put in the dev link (look above)
click ok.
then right click the SRL folder and go repository log.
copy all that is on the left into your SRL folder in scar
which should be empty.

Ok Your done :)

IMO, rep begging is bad, I almost NEVER, ask for rep or give it out, depends on what situation.

how do i Download the DevSVN
I dont get this and I read it carefully.
So i go to my computers then go to SCAR 3.20d then includes and then i right click SRL and i don't see the option checkout?

The right click and check out doesn't work for me (mabie vista's fault) but i found a way around it. Great guide anyways.

The Man, might add that you SVN Check Out once and that they better remove the SRL folder and create a new one would be easier, if they want the Dev SVN.

Hey I came here from another thread you said to go to.... everything worked but do I have to move plugins?


I moved the plugins, didnt do anything because they were already in there. I got this error:

Runtime Error] : Exception: Access violation at address 697C14D3 in module 'Embedded_SMART.dll'. Read of address 0000033C in line 48 in script C:\SCAR 3.20\includes\SRL/SRL/Misc/Smart.scar

Line 48: result:= SmartGetColor(x, y);

Yes, just go
Includes>SRL>Move to plugins folder>Copy everything in there
Scar3.20>Plugins>paste

this is the error I am getting

when I do the includes thing for reflection in and stuff I get:

Help please

This works for me yet I am still getting errors when trying to use powermining scripts.

I have trouble understanding how this all works.

I followed this guide and all and compiled the script and ran it and it either gets an error or it runs around and my guy doesn't mine he just runs around lol.

is the script outdated?

Try restarting, redownloading SRL, and going to an earlier revision.

If you've downloaded Reflection, it has its own plugin that you need to move. ;)
