Happened to me last week.
If you have internet enabled, try to turn it off, and it will give you more time.
What happened to me though, was it deleted all my registries and drivers. So you might aswell save your important stuff, and format.
is it a virus or wut though cause i could run a complete scan with internet inenable
desktop and yes i did could think of the word lol
Does it just shut off like you pulled the plug, or does it go through the normal shutdown procedure?
Check your fans ;)

it shuts off like i pull the plug
I was getting a blue screen. (Not bsod though)
bsod?
do you have Windows xp or vista?
vista
Have you checked your fans, like previously stated, and are you sure it is not a virus?
A virus can shut off a computer like the plug was pulled, but in most cases it completely dumps all memory. Because the memory has not been dumped i would say it is most likely not a virus
how do i check the fans
I am no expert at telling someone how to check their computer fans but i would say, take off/apart your case and then turn on the computer and see if the fans are in fact running. Vista also might have a built in feature that will check fans, not sure thought
Try checking for driver issues (conflicts, etc):
XP:
Start Menu> Right click My Computer> Press Properties> Go to Hardware Tab> Click on Device Manager button.
Vista/7:
Start Menu (Windows Icon, bottom left corner)> Right Click My Computer> Press Properties> Click on Device Manager on the left pane.
----
If you haven't found any driver issues, try seeing if there are any driver updates available:
Click Here and then click on Free Instant Scan.
Note that this is a free version of the program and all driver updates available won't be able to install via this program. It is best to go to the manufacturers website to get an update.

I don't see how fans has got a problem with it if it just crashes to a BSOD. But check them anyway as others have suggested (by removing any dust, etc). Also, don't forget to check the Heatsink (if you can).
EDIT: Don't worry :p Just realised no BSODs or anything you get. Just restarts. Forget what i said above ;)
So your saying if you the plug is pulled your computers shutsdown, maybe your computer out of battery.
Desktops don't have battery, wtf? At least, most don't XD.
What the hell? None in California do :o. Mines like 3 months old and doesn't have a battery O_O.
I am about 90% sure this isn't a virus, it is a fan related issue.
What is happening is that your computer maybe in a tight compact space and the airways (slits in the case) are blocked up, this could also happen due to dust blocking it.
Try blowing the slits in the case and using a duster to get rid of all the dust, also move your computer out into the open if it is under a desk or something similar. Now try it, if it still happens, then open up your case and give your fans a clean. There will be about 6 - 10 screws which you will need a Xhead screwdriver for, the screws will be at the back, and you can open each side seperately.
Hope this helps

One such example of a virus that can shut down your computer is W32.Blaster.Worm. So viruses can really shut down computers. But as others have frequently said and i agree with, it is most likely a fan related issue.
Try Malwarebytes. This links to its download
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Free software, and works great. Scans and removes. just no real time protection.
What I would do, honestly, is send it to pro's for reparation at like dell or HP instead of asking here as nothing so far has helped.
forgot about this thread for a little bit lol but it must have been a fan isue or something casued it hasnt done it for about 1 day or so now
What? Just like pulling the plug? I doubt it. You most likely had enabled to "restart on crash", so it restarts, instead of being able to display a BSOD. Also, very few people have been able to imitate a computer being turned off like, no power. A simple "shutdown -s" command doesn't fully turn off the hardware ;)
