Who cares? It depends on the script, we're not the RsBot community, are we? Should we care? This update has mainly hit the clients that hack the rs client, their ban system may be a little stronger at detecting srl scripts, but, as a community we should work together and learn to create even more better, un-detectable scripts. SRL isn't going to die from this measly update, they basically want to scare us, and discourage autoers.

I really hate when Yagex says something than acts otherwise. They said they will ban all players no matter how high their rank is. Take this for instance:
Lucipher6 banned and than unbanned. I don't that is fair. What is the reason for unbanning him:
1. They made a mistake (if they made a mistake doesn't matter because there is no chance for him to appeal and for Yagex to look in the case again)
2. Last chance chance appeal (there is no last chance appeal for ALL player, why should there be one for him)
Some of you might say: he's rank 3, they can't just ban him. Well I say, why not? Let's even give him an award for being the best macro in the world...
I'm not saying we deserve to be banned, I'm just saying that rules should be the same for all of us and that Yagex should keep their own promises.
tico2, there are ways to appeal, Jagex said if any legit player gets banned then the legit person will care enough to contact Jagex another way. Not only that, but Lucipher6 got someone to post on the RSOF ...

I think this update is stupid, in there macro update, it says members will be perm-banned also, that's not an update, my member got perm'd like a month or two ago. It's be happening for a little while now, and a bunch other people got their accounts banned around the same time also. It's only an update to non-autoers, people who don't know what's going on with macro, like they're just finding out now from JaGex, I found out a while ago from experience. So this isn't something new to worry bout. But they did accept my last chance appeal, so either they lied bout that to scare people out of autoing, or the no auto last chances is new.
Anyone know if SMART is safe?
It loads the client directly and stuff, so, anyone know?

I was looking for a more technical aspect.
In java there is a way to detect what the java is being ran from, getDocumentBase() or something, so that would be an easy fix for anyone using bots, since they can just build a list of browsers and such, and start blacklisting anything that isnt, or just flag accounts, making it easier to catch.

A friend of mine had his high level account banned(members). He has another member account still going strong. Funny thing is, his high level account was on the old members subscription amount but the new one is on a higher subscription. Both have been autoed on but only one banned. Hmmmm, coincidence?;)
So is it safe to auto? I'm just waiting for everything to clear up...

old propaganda is old. I've been using a falador cow script that uses DEFAULT Scar functions and self made ones, since 2003. Not one fucking ban.

3-4 hours, twice a week. (this if you bot like 2-3 times a week).
7 Hours(overnight), once a week (not recommended to use this, but you can if you do it once in a while).
The longer you bot the less you bot.
I've been botting for years now, never once got cought. IMO it is because I personally change the scripts up each time I bot.

@osmm I've been autoing 6-12 hours a day for ~2 months and I'm not banned.
Since the update though I've been playing it safe by botting fletching in Soul Wars, this way Randoms don't get me until I come out :)
EDIT: Lol. I got banned.
Whatever JaGeX says is bullshit, they have made multiple posts like this saying, we will kill macroing... Okay, some other bottingprograms may have died over the past few years, but SCAR has been going on for a good amount of time, and is still going on, SCAR (and SRL) keeps getting updated, and scripts variate way too much to detect all this.
For the people asking if SMART is safe, if SRL is safe, if SCAR is safe... NO, it's not safe, there have been people banned by using SCAR, and there will be more in the future, if you care about your precious Runescape account, don't bot, easy as that.
I recently got banned I am starting to think they are serious, but I am probably one of the unlucky people :(
