This is cruel, horrible, another proof humans are bad, other humans are bad in other things.
Solution get an army of ninjas to brutally (but stealthily) kill any one found to be wearing animal fur (if there is proof that they where knowledgeable that is was real fur) that will scare people from wearing real fur fur market will colapse animals are safe yay!!!
that video was so disgusting i couldnt even watch it. fuck that just ruined my day, im all pissed off now :(
I still don't get how breaking the neck of an animal before the skinning damages the fur so badly.
Though it is for sustenance, that doesn't make it right.
I can't go skin the people doing this, but I can protest their work. ;)

So I really have to say this isn't that shocking. However it is gross and the animals should obviously be killed before skinned... I mean honestly it isn't that hard to break their necks and just be done with it.
I am a hunter, and every time I shoot an animal I make sure it's dead as soon as possible to put it out of it's misery. This is truly inhumane.
On the flip side it is people's way of making money. So i can see how the basic idea of killing them is feasible. Still they should be killed before skinning.

now, i didn't watch the video, but from reading the thread, this was a chinese furfarm and they were skinning them b4 killing them...
now imagine how many deer or whatever are skinned everyday. imagine the 7-10 seconds that it would take to kill each one. that's hours a day that those people would lose, and there are only so many hours in a day. say i skinned 700 deer per day, if i cut there throats i would only be able to skin about 550 while i waited for each one to die.
i voted yes.
The factor between the time of the fur ripped off and the cut throat, isn't that big, you might lose 50 animals at max. a day.

We're just mauling the skin off of them, and I would guess that the Chinese probably eat the animals, since meat is sorta scarce/expensive there.

I'd say no to the poll, even though I don't really care, those people are free to do whatever they want. If they really want to torture something, though, they might as well do it to a person who deserves it. I'd imagine being skinned alive would be quite painful.
EDIT: Actually now that I've watched the video those animals look semi-dead. Kinda like when you hit a fish on the head with a knife and then skin it. Keeping the animals alive as long as possible allows the product to last longer without risk of going bad. Honestly, that was a hard whack they were given, most of the movement was probably left-over reflex from their broken brain.
Also, did you know PETA is classified as a terrorist organization?
[ON TOPIC]People should also remember that the chinese people growing and skinning these animals for their fur most likely live in pretty poor conditions and don't have too many other jobs to choose from. It's the same as vegetarians complaining about other people eating meat..
Yeah, I wonder why do those sick bastards in africa etc. eat meat if they even manage to get any? Can't they just go to their local supermarket and buy some vegetables and soy (or w/e crap vegetarians use to replace meat) instead, geez.

I'm not sure if PETA is exactly related to the topic, but I hate the damn retarded organization so much I'll write something about it too.
Animals are not equal to humans. Or how many chickens (or any other animals) do you see doing anything else than eating, shitting, sleeping and fucking? Perhaps your dog can bring you a stick back if you throw it but that's just because it's hoping to get a snack or something out of it. I'm pretty sure that if chickens had evolved to the point where we are now before us they'd be shooting us down and making shoes out of us..
Another thing that makes me wonder is why are people so againts animals living in captivity(sp)? In nature they'd have to fight for every meal or they'll starve, be on guard all the time or some other animal comes by and kills them and so on. In captivity they don't have anything to fear, food is brought right in front of their face, and so on.
Then comparing those huge facilities (can't remember the word) full of chickens, pigs, cows or w/e to the holocaust(sp?) just makes me /facepalm. The jews killed had dreams and hopes, a family, social connections and so on. Animals don't have any of that. Their #1 interest is food and sex. They don't think or have any actual feelings.
Also, if we gave animals equal rights it'd lead to a few things like:
1. We'd run out of food as no-one would do anything about the animals, so there'd be fuckloads of animals popping up as we couldn't kill them which would lead to them eating all our precious grass and vegetables.
2. Most animals would end up in jail in no time as their equal rights would include equal laws too, so we'd have jails full of animals that were put there for pissing and shitting in public, stealing, murder (some animals eat other animals to survive which would be murder) and so on, so we'd end up having to kill them anyway.
3. Animals would be everywhere so gl getting anywhere with your car when there's 7 cows blocking the road.
Kind of a long ramble but I was in a bit of a hurry, correct me if I'm wrong about anything etc.
