Cup Request

My first thread in this subforum after two and a half years of SRL. Oh well, we all know the saying: for everything there's a first time ^-^

Basically, I want something like this (excuse me for my MS Paint skillz):

^ a bit ugly but you should get the general idea :)

The cup needs to be between 55 and 65 pixels high, and the width is up to you!
I want a PNG with alphachannel for the background.

Have fun, the winner will receive eternal fame and his cup will be implemented on the forums!

P.S. I attached a nice GP render you can use (I basically put 1m on a table @ RS HD and screenied it and cut off the background xD), hope it helps!

Edit: It's the meaning you make a cup like this in case that isn't clear :p

What is the cup for?

People who are banned from the black market. Ofcourse those bans will be combined with forum bans of at least 3 month length. Scams will ofcourse be permanently punished just to make that clear.

A bit hard to read "Banned" and the "Black Market" text is a bit simple.

I think the one Cop made is awesome

I like your version, Runaway Cop, but I think the Ø should be on top of the mills. It looks slightly weird when the line is covering the mills, but the actual circle is behind them.

The line only covers one, I think.

Runaway cop, I like yours. Tryusing a white outline around "banned" though to see if it makes it a little easier to read.

In my opinion, the letters in "BANNED" look really close together, try spacing them out a little?

Yeah I agree. Also, I thought the point of cups were to represent something good that you have done for the community, not for breaking the rules. Earning a cup for getting banned seems ironic to me, don't you think?

We already have the Village Clown and Mostly Harmless, and this isn't much different.


What I don't really understand is the need for this. Scamming is without a doubt as bad as making a password stealing script or taking someone's account that they left in a script. Those users get banned permamently, would it not be so here as well? Or would this be the type of thing where if you are so much as accused of scamming you would be banned from the market until a decision is made?

In my opinion a trade with caution cup, like Sythe has, would be somewhat more suitable (for those who are suspected of scamming but the accuser(s) have little to no evidence, or for those who were banned but have served their sentence).

EDIT: Wait a minute, isn't the black market supposed to be SRL Members+? :p

Do Village Clown and Mostly Harmless have a cup? I've only seen Village Clown once, and it was a long time ago, but I don't recall seeing a cup.

And... Yeah I thought so too, so wouldn't that mean everyone should be trusted? Or maybe posted in the SRL Members section? ;)

An animated image comes up where the cups are, so yes, I guess those should be considered cups (even though they aren't in the Wiki :confused:). Most of the time the user with that title/cup gets banned soon after, which, like this, makes the cup seem to be scarce in its use, unless I misunderstand the purpose.

EDIT: Then again, according to the Fawk, Mostly Harmless and Village Clown are 'Special Ranks', not cups :cartman:

It is, but I thought there might be some graphics talent over here.

The situation this "cup"/"rank" will be used in is if people scammed for example at Sythe (or scammed me over msn for example) and are banned over there, but did nothing over here. Those people still pose a security risk to the SRL Market and will thus be banned from it.

I completely understand you, but we need to clearly show who's banned and who's not. A big "cup" (you shouldn't think of this as a cup, just as something that shows up between the cups) clearly shows that the person can't be trusted and should not be traded with.

Btw, I added a deadline: 23 august is the last day you can send in "cups" :)
