Silly language

This is a game.
The rules are simple: Post something funny about your language (Might be easier for those of us that isn't from a English speaking country).

I'll start by posting a few:
- In the Norwegian language, "Gift" can mean either Married or Poison, so being married here in Norway is literally killing ;)

- In the Norwegian language we have approx 10 ways of saying "I"; "e", "eg", "æ", "æg", "je", "jæ", "jæi", "jeg", "i", "ej". Probably even more. It all depends on what dialect you speak.

- In one of the dialects here in Norway they use "j" a lot. And by a lot I mean in around 50% of the words. The sentence "Æ så æin mannj med æin hannjhonj og ettj spannj folljt med vannj." is the same as "Jeg så en mann med en hannhund og et spann fult med vann." and is translated to "I saw a man with a male dog and a bucket filled with water." Personally I have problems understanding those who speak like that...

Homonyms/Homophones.

They are like banana-phones only.. not cool.

England and America are butchering English to the point where simple grammatical normalities are often wrong in common peoples usage, ie your and you're or its and it's.

Lul (urban way of saying lol!) means dick in dutch.

kok = chef in dutch
Look at this:
Sparklings - Sparkings - Sparings - Springs - Sprigs - Spigs - Sigs - Sis - S S
All of those (except S S) are actual English words!

Read "The Funny side of English" by O. Abootty, it's filled with stuff like this.

Eat your food. However the word for word translation would be : eat up your food.

We have quite a few Dutch names that are translated into 'penis' in English.
The most commonly used ones are 'Cock' or 'de Cock' and 'Dick' as a first name. Quite funny when you arrive in an English speaking country; "Hi, I'm Dick de Cock!" :P

My old math's teacher's name is Dick Baksteen, which translates to Dick Brick. Get it? :P

Muna can mean either dick (in spoken language), or an egg. Offering someone an egg does not raise amusement in most of the ways to say it.

And back to English
Today I found out that there is a place in Norway that's named "Hell", which translates to "Luck" (there is a place named "Paradis" here too by the way). In "hell" there is a famous building with a sign on it that says "Gods expedition" and translates to "Goods dispatch" (or something... I'm not quite sure).

"Where in Hell are we?"
"You're at the Gods Expedition, ma'am"
