This has been said but... Fixscar.exe ?
-
omg help freddy want to hack us.
i dunno why norton see it as virus.
-
I've been widely flamed for using norton.
I know SCAR isn't a virus, just that I've never seen fixscar.exe before.
-
False positive.. What you should do is kill norton with fire and then get a real antivirus to remove it (unless theyve made norton easier to get rid of nowadays, although I'm pretty sure it still leaves a hundred different kinds of crap behind even after uninstalling).

It's something that compresses a program. They also give some protection against casual cracking, amongst other things.[/oversimplifiedexplanation]
They're also commonly used in viruses, so most virus scanners will pick up packed programs as potential threats.

They're most commonly used in loads of programs...
-
So the solution is simple; don't use one. Will also fix the issue with SCAR itself being a virus.

Stop being ignorant, I am pretty sure you have used SCAR before it isn't a virus, I know my anti-virus doesn't detect it (Kaspersky Internet Security) they are just false reportings by the anti virus. SCAR isn't the only program that gets scanned and then finds a file that gets picked up as a virus.
Dervish, does norton have the "trusted" thing on it where you can add the file then it adds the program to not be picked up as a virus etc...

Yes, McAfee also identifies it as a virus, which is very annoying because I can't get SCAR onto my computer... So I've tried turning off the virus protecting, downloading it, and turning it back on which then it still finds it -.- And I know McAfee gets ripped on all the time but I'm not getting rid of it :/
