We are missing the point right here. Its true I stated somewhere the argument that I am for some time member of this communitie. But if you had read more carefully you should have known that I dont saying this all because i am for a ''long'' time here. I am saying this for all Junior SRL Members who contributed here there time, effort etc. (Just read my comments better, not pointing all that again out) Its unfair that we are equal now to the people who are here for 1 one week with 10 posts. . My intrest is in other area's like sound engineering. If I wanted to learn something new I used my time for my study not for scripting. Learning to script does not respond to my breeding. If it was I had my motivation.
Hopefully this is accepted here. Well I was kinda wrong, some people just dont give a shit about you anymore if your not willing to learn scripting.

I am here for the fun ! To spend my free time and relax. To read the threads / storys. The answer on them and to enjoy others by making a new thread. You have a wrong image of me. Well I just didnt get noticed at all. I know now I have no repetation here or maybe duoing this I created a bad one for myself. Its hard for me to say what i think in the english because I am Dutch. I try as hard as I can to make a point what I pointed out above.

Okay I get that long activity is a stupid argument to substructure your story. I gave more arguments. If you read properly you shoulda know that the special rank thing just was a solution. Mat, have you thought this through? ;) Well I guess you wouldn't know, but there is virtually no difference in being a member. None of the member topics get much attention, and it's really not that big of a deal. And your argument about you not wanting to script and get more benefits being "accepted" here is quite absurd. This is a forum for scripting and runescape cheating with SRL. Not about studying, sound engineering, or anything of that sort. If you would like to have the title of member or whatever may please you, then you need to contribute to the forum. Which is, again, about scripting SRL. Otherwise, here's a way to make your rank more "prestigious." Soon nobody will be able to join. So you can brag to your friends about being part of the private villavu! Since this seems to all be able you not praised enough.
Sorry if that sounded harsh, but you've no argument, really. You want more acknowledgment, but there's no reason you deserve it (as far as anyone here knows). Sorry. And some people have been here for years and years and are equal to people who have just joined in the past month. And, again, longevity means nothing here. It's about knowledge and willingness to contribute, which you've neither (knowledge about scripting, not other things. :p), right? ;)
tl;dr, This is a democracy. You don't just get appointed to certain positions based on age, intelligence unrelated to scripting, sound engineering (sounds cool, by the way ^^), etc.. You get appointed if you can script well, and you contribute. Make sense? :)
Ok Mix I just wanted to make sure we had an understanding on what it meant to be "part of the community" and I agree on that because if you would of said testers are unimportant I'd be offended lol because I always thought I was helping and that's all I wanna do :( is help. But thanks. Actually thank you to everyone who was part of this because this conversation right here cleared up alot of things that I'm sure other members wondered.
It has always been that way, the one week-10 posts. You need to somehow distiguish yourself to be above them...like making a good script and applying... in order to get recognition. Or you could get cups(like the one you have).Quote:

jw, since all these new updates are happening to srl, if i ever actually want to become a member, will it be harder to become a member? also, does one have to be a jr member to apply for member (since there is 6 months or whatever before one is a jr member)?

You don't (and I'm sure won't) have to be a junior member to apply for members.
I think what Mat is trying to say is the that there should be more recognition for the few junior members that actively participates in the forum, posts feedback etc. I can name a select few Jms who does that. And its those members like Mr Doctor (a.k.a junkj :p), gratz, Mat, I luff yewws and some more... who give feedback and actually help to improve scripts.
Most lechers would go straight to download, when it doesn't work because they haven't read the instructions, starts spamming, asking how to get it to work etc etc
SRL members run a script, they find small problems, they fix it themselves and keep it that way (just generalizing)
Its only few junior members that give actual feedback example, how the walking was, banking needs tweaking etc etc. Go to the scripts section now and see what I am talking about. Even now, despite being open for all, how many Registered users or SRL members do you see providing feedbacks?
What he is trying to say is that how would they be differentiated from other junior members who for example could stay here for 6 months and leech every script they get their hands on. They would get the same title but all they would be doing is damage the community (mass abuse scripts for example).
Admins should browse the forums more and give out cups (like SRL Tester cup) to more people and maybe create a custom title for them etc. Basically encourage them by giving them something for their contribution. Something that separates testers from lechers. Agree with me or not but this community would not survive with just SRL members and lechers at least not the Runescape cheating part.
Just learning to script doesn't make people a good community member and some people don't have the time to invest in learning a programming language doesn't mean they are lechers and don't deserve respect or that they don't want to learn scripting.
Note: This wasn't aimed at anyone, I am just pointing out/clearing some stuff Mat was trying to say :)
Edit: I luff yewws, I still don't get it how you are able to use avatars (since only SRL member+ should be able to use it). Tell me!!!!!!!! :p
Another Edit: Oh and when I say feedback, I don't mean posting proggies. Posting proggies shows nothing, but when a SRL member wants some ideas for scripting those JMs (mentioned above) are the ones who gives them, they are the ones who points out small details that makes the script run longer, faster, becomes more fool proof. When a SRL member needs members accounts for scripts, they are the one who provides them, when an admin/dev wants accounts for fixing randoms, they are the ones who give them. when a random is broken, they are the ones who inform the devs, If that isn't contribution then what is? Some the JMs do a lot more than post proggies, so why shouldn't they get something in return, something that would differentiate them from rest of the members. They deserve some respect, not be shunned aside or ignored because they can't script. They are an integral part of this community.

And I know what you were meaning, Mat. ^^ That's just not how it works here. But it is very much appreciated by anyone who makes scripts. ;) And you can get cups. Like SRL tester. ^^ But you never know. Maybe they'll change something.

As far as I know it's member privilege to have avatars. And some cups grant it too. I had an avatar too for a little time while I was a junior but it was removed after an admin saw it :p. It was after we moved to villavu, a bug.Quote:

I became an SRL Member when I hadn't made a single functioning script (and there have been several others as well); you don't have to be a great scripter to be an SRL Member. As somebody mentioned earlier, the difference here is that SRL is centered around programming and the programmers will get the recognition, for the most part. However, as in my case, doing enough aside from programming will be noticed and eventually rewarded.Quote:

Well that was a good 3 page read, I don't know if the debate is over yet or not. This is how I see it simply..
You are here to;
-have fun
-work on new skills
-develop previously learnt skills
-Help out the community through things like;
~testing peoples scripts
~giving constructive Criticism
~helping out people who are lost or stuck
~develop friendships and mainly a bond with the community and the individual within it
~developing yourself as more a team player than just leeching or using scripts and
instead helping the scripter through problems and also praise them when all is well to
keep them motivated.
~etc.
Overall,
-It doesn't matter what the pixels say your rank is, its to do with how you feel you have helped the community and how other people see how you have helped them out.
You won't get seen or praised every time you do good, but for those you have helped you will be remembered by 'them', which is really what matters. There is no point having all these differen't things under your name like admin or mod if it isn't obvious that you are helping out all the time. because mainly you wont be known in return you most probably wont be respected by your peirs that don't know of you.
(the last bit was a bit of a ramble but I hope you can see the picture that I am trying to paint)
