Fletching ( Basically done )
Crafting ( Basically done )
Event Handling (Normal private servers use shit timers, event handlers are more efficent ) ( They make it so you cant mass click something.

Working on
Saving inventory when you log out
Frames (Like when you fletch two things together, you see the fletch all button. )

Working out kinks with making sure that there are no connection issues, because sometimes when a player logs in, it throws a socket write error, and I am working on resolving that.

4/2: I heard that Sebo has has some really terrible family issues, and i have been on vacation, so the development has been put on a hault for a week or so.


3/26: Fixed up the login frame ( what you see when you log in )

3/25: Fletching and crafting really fixed up.

something random, :) i honestly have no idea

It would be funny if you are walker or running that you gain some little agility points. I already thought at that idea in rs :p I dont know the difficulties behind this to add something like that.

Long long time ago, before construction was announced on the legit runescape, I was into RS private servers, and I made some sort of Player Owned Houses script, which made you be able to buy a certain house (for example, a house in Varrock), and you would receive a key which would only work for that door.
Before I could even finish the code, the server got nuked down (don't ask why), but I'm still proud, because I made it work with some doors/keys. :)

This is what I'm most interested in in private servers, you can actually do whatever you want to do, aslong as the engine supports it.

When is the server beta tested?

I actually thought of that idea once(when i was into private servers years ago) but I never knew how to code back then. Thats a pretty cool idea. Maybe you can add one item to spawn every few minutes in there. Any item of your choice :p That would be cool.

Like everybody gets a random house in a city (Start with varrock and move to different ones ) and inside your house you choose a spawn item :p

If buying houses is made available, how about buying trees to put in your house, anvils or different skill objects such as a rock to mine...

Then people will actually work hard on the server in order to make the best training place - then they could charge people to go in and train. :p
Sounds fantasy, but everything is possible in the world of programming.

If that really gets coded, i would rather play on the private server then real rs.

Honestly, the idea is a good one, but that's a really long term goal, we have to still work out the skeleton of the emulator before anything big like that happens. And I think a more logical way of giving these 'houses' to people, would be for them to buy it. There aren't THAT many 'houses' in the game that we can really give away to everyone. Because, in case a lot of people do play, there is no way we can be equal and give everyone a house that they can own. We would also somehow have to price the value of it, because not all of them are the same size. >.<

True, true...but the first ones that register an account will get a house, and when they are out, they can be just sold.

The only problem with that is, most first time account creators don't stick with that account, so what happens is more than 50% of the accounts don't play anymore?

I'll talk to Sebo tomorrow when he has free time. I think we are going to get alot more done, then release a very small beta.

::train strength 87
that would set strength level to 87.

and shops that sell all items, like godswords and armadyl/bandos armour.
And realistic GWD bosses! So that I could train some boss strategies there :p

With what connection will you be hosting this? I believe it will require massive bandwidth o_O Will it be laggy?

marpis, when I was testing it it seemed to work just fine.

Im pretty sure someone has suitable server for hosting it :)

I for one have a server located in germany, it has 100/100 connection and 150Gb/Month bandwidth, and I use like 30Gb of it so plenty free.

But does it the ability to run java? I have never seen one unless its specialty for running PServers

Um, you just install Java (JRE) on it, and that is it.

I just tried and it installed fine. :)

Any of the 7 Deadly Sins.....but I have always thought Gluttony would be a cool skill...especially for the people that PK and the "safers"...any time they eat too much, they get fatter....would be hard to code to make the actual characters size increase...but it might be relatively easy to just code it in as a penalty...say, if you eat more than you need to be healed, your agility or other skills are lowered....

Although 99 Gluttony Skill cape where your character takes up a 6x6 square and uses 100 run energy to move across the screen would be funny :p

Fast food eating. Although that would only be possible at higher levels :D.
For low level, vegetables, the higher the level the unhealthier the food you can eat thus the more "xp"/fat you get.

Have a macroing skill and make us do some sort of agility race themed activity made solely to mess with SCAR. IE little contrast, changing colors, etc.

At a few difficulty levels :)

Good training for the 'real' world!

reading through this, i have an amazing idea for a new skill, though it would NOT be an easy one. it would definately pay off though

im thinking as a combination of multiple skillz. people can discover and create mining areas ingame. like taking a shovel to areas with special equipment, and if many people are helping, and you might randomly discover a whole new area, maybe trainging, maybe a city :P, or maybe a computer :D

it could be a kind of digsite? with the igher your skills the better you are at finding places. call the skill archealogy or something. be able to construct tents, and caves :P


also, higher agility would make you able to find objects easier, prayer makes you lucky, strength helps dig faster, that new hp thing could control how long you can dig for, and also add accidents :eek:. oops, cave-in. spawn back at lumby, maybe someone will dig your equipment back up :P


and remove the trade limit if it is active in your private server. their is no use fr it here. lol

That is truly a great idea in my opinion :) Thought, making the server function even for the normal stuff will take time.

Yea right now we are working out the core of the server, but sebo and I keep missing each other on msn.

can i get an update on this? if you are still working on this, i would like to learn how to code and work a private server.
