Global warming, capitalism, hole in the ozone layer, internet censorship, deforestation, religion, fucked up laws, famine, segregation, racism, sexism, "democracy", people taking advantage of those worse off than them, AIDS, disease, surveillance, natural disasters without relief if it doesnt profit (hurricana katrina for example), and thats just the tip of the iceberg.
This isnt fun, its a near dystopia. And it's all our parents fault. ;)
What are we gonna do about it?
How are we destroying our planet with disease? Its not like we can stop it.
I think he might mean humanity? Last I check internet censorship isn't causing patches of rain forest to disappear.
inb4 people pick one or two points to argue about, fact is these are just some of the great problems we're facing at this point in time. Disease kills, medicine fixes, we stop it by getting better at medicine.
Edit - Yep, I mean humanity. :)
When all of the problems finally reach their apex, something will snap. Usually the snap fixes things.
Oh, and we can get rid of Islam. Nothing against Muslims, it's just that their religion is one of the most bigoted of all of them (as of now).
And we can cure AIDS/cancer/virtually anything. Just sayin'.

All religions have their elements of peace and violence, the key is seeing each in each religion. Everyones hatin' on islam atm because its external to most of us (different parts of the world), soon it will move to the western religions too. I agree, it is the biggest issue. It's a non issue once people realise for themselves that it's a non issue. We're all the same organism (the human race), living in the same place, fucking it up for ourselves over the abitrary, society-and-self imposed differences some people still believe in. Agreed with the moral responsibility, too. Edit - I wasn't referring to cultural differences, such as music, art, etc. I mean the differences which propel people to do what they think is best for themselves or their country, rather than the human race as a whole.Quote:

Whats not helping is the fact that current education (at least in America) is a fucking disgrace. Throughout my schooling... no one could ever tell me what the "point" was. We go to school to memorize a bunch of bullshit in order to score well on some exams which allow me to go to college (meanwhile get put into debt by student loans) so I can get a degree and get a job to work for most of my life...
If we could focus education away from this plug and chug mentality and direct it towards the actual "point" of learning we would be taking a step in the right direction to social changes.

This is honestly how I think it will go. Maybe it will take 1000 years, but that's just another 0.025% of the earth's current age (approximately). After the fallout it will take several thousands of years and some other form of life conquers earth again. At this time human race is history, unless we first start first cities on Mars. Making the air breatable should take 100 or 200 years.
EDIT: Oh, I missed your point. Actually, we could destroy the planet itself with todays weapons. Wouldn't even be that big of a project really. I don't think that's impossible.
