Okay, so here is the deal.
Every day I will post a new puzzle along with the previous days solution.
I will keep a score and who knows, you may win a prize ;)

Here is a simpler one :)

Q: A committee of six is to be formed from a group of seven men and four women. How many different committees can be formed if at least two women are always included in each committee?
A: 371


DAY 9:

Q: 100, 90, 84, 74, 63, 53, 43, 33. What number comes next?
A: 22 - Count the letters in the number and subtract that from the original number. OneHundred = 10 letters. 100-10=90


DAY 10:

Q:One man can mow a cricket ground in 2 hours.
Another man can mow a cricket ground in 3 hours.
Another man can mow a cricket ground in 4 hours.
Another man can mow a cricket ground in 5 hours.

If they all worked together over the same area at their respective speeds, and assuming they did not obstruct each other, how long would they take collectively to finish the job?

Osculate? This is a joke right? That's not a puzzle, that's see who can use an anagram solver the fastest :p

each set is separate two brothers are separate from the sisters

that mean that each person is 50 and 3 year before they were each 47

47 + 47 = 94

^ Each person isn't 50.

That sounds awfully wrong.

I've come to the same answer as Nava, Sex & Canadaman.
I'll put the reasoning in white text.. if you wish to read it..

In 10 years, the combined age of 2 brothers and 2 sisters will be 100

Now, as it is 4 people, in 10 years they will have aged a total of 40.

Therefore, their combined age right now must be 60.

In seven years, their age will be:

60 + 4*7 = 88.

4 people all adding up to 100 after 10 years. In 3 years less than 10 years, they have aged how much? 100 - (4 * (10 - 7)) = 88

Thats to simple IMO, I think it trickier then it looks because that jsut the way these things usually are

But.. your solution doesn't make sense.

By the way, I did it the way that RM did.

That's the trick :p The fact it looks tricky when its not.
J_Pizzle's makes sense when you take it as 2 people, not 2 sets of 2 people.

Other problems from the same source don't seem to use tricky wording, so I would take it at face value.

I did it like this.
100/4-3*4=88
100 divided by four because four people.
-3 because 10 years - 3 years equals seven years.
Multiply by four because 4 people.

or

100-(3*4)=88
3*4 because 10-7 is 3 and four people.

^ Since when has 10 - 3 been three? :D

What the hell, O_O!? 10-7=3*

88 Was the right answer (Goes to Nava2)


DAY 3:

Q: Find the next number in the series: 199 280 344 360 396

My guess is 477.

edit: Here's an explanation of how I came to my answer (highlight over if you're interested):

If you take a look at the differences between each number, you'll notice that they're all perfect squares. Taking the square root of these numbers gives you the middle number in each of the three digit numbers in the series. From there, you can deduce that the difference between the last number listed and the next, unknown value in the series will be nine squared, or eighty-one.

There are 72 to be exactc, i counted them tonightt.

the question calls for a 4 digit number.

The answers are 2025 & 9801 (Method)

And there are only 2 answers (not 5, not 70, not 72. Only 2)
