I've had my iPod video 30G white for over 4 years now, and recently I think the HD died inside.
Now I'm planning to buy a new iPod, question is what kind should I get?
Classics only come in 160G, which is way too much for me.
Touch is too expensive for too little space, and IDC for the apps and whatnot, since it only uses wifi anyways.
So this seems like the most plausible thing to get. 16G.

Who has/had one? What do you think of it?
How much is it? I suggest buying a combo; like phone + media player in one. My phone has 32GB storage and I'm very happy with the media player. It plays all formats and play hardly effects the battery life.
I don't care for phones at all, they just need to make calls, I don't even text.
$180 For 16G.

I has one but its 8GB... I like that it has a built in speaker =)

iPod touch just seems idk to me, dl a bunch of games and apps and crap, waste time playing them (although they are fun) and you can only use net if there is WiFi around.
It's a lot pricier too. I just don't think I'd use it all that much besides for music.
New nano has built in speaker? That's handy! I doub't I'd use it to watch video's much, I hardly used my iPod video to watch movies/shows, no need for that stuff 'on the go' really.

Well the iPod classic is a much more better option in my opinion, can hold more data for cheaper. But go with whatever you like most.
The question is, do you want an iPod, or a good music player?

I personally <3 my iPod Touch. I have a 16G and its amazing. For music playing I just like the GUI and setup it has for everything. All is nicely organized and you can easily guide your way through all of your music without having to use that stupid scroll wheel on the iPod Nano (I have one of those too).

Buy a 32gig zune hd. Battery life is incredible, i charge my 64 once a week. Compare that to any of my ipods, and that alone blows it out of the water.

If your not going with the touch for an ipod, I wouldn't buy an ipod at all. There isn't anything special about the ipods that cant be found in a $30 rca mp3 player.
I just lost my amazing 2nd generation nano that had 8gb, it wasn't until after I lost it and realized half my music was in protected AAC format from the itunes store that I realized it wasn't so amazing.. it took a few days of "burning" all my songs to a virtual drive (NoteBurner pirated nontrial version) to get them to mp3 format. Now I have all my songs ported nicely to my 14gb droid phone which has some cool software like (3) aka cubed, and the original music player with the droid is also very cool.

Just try to avoid the itunes store and keep your songs in a reusable format.

The faking Zune 16G seems to BLOW the iPod nano OUT OF THE WATER!
(Thinking about getting a 36G, although it is a bit more pricey...)

Zune is more music oriented than an ipod touch. Its internet browser is noticeably slower, and there arent nearly as many apps. But when compared to the nano, let me put it this way. A friend borrowed my nano for a day and i didnt notice at all until i saw the dead battery. A friend borrowed my zune for a week, and i noticed right away, but it was returned with the battery status at the exact same place. (He didnt own a charger)
Get ipod nano, its the best ive had. I have one of the old ones.
YoHoJo, my Zune HD (32g) is amazing. :) I have it playing 24/7 (no joke, I never have it not play music) and it has a 33 hour battery life (while playing music). :) I'd suggest it.
The only thing is that you can only use Zune Software on Windows. But that's combated by the fact that it includes Zune -> Computer music transferring, which is very nice, in my opinion.
Archos looks nice too. :)

Ok, ZUNE HD is a very good product, the only negative points were...
