Hiring a Web Designer

Hey, so i am starting website design business. I don't know of anyone around here. (where i live) that knows how to build websites.
anyway, im looking for someone who can build the websites i ask them to and i will help them of course. i am looking for someone who is dedicated has a lot of time and can construct well and professional sites.

I will pay upon our projects eventually i will have a real business license and pay hourly probably 9-15 dollars an hour depending on how good the person is. possibly will get them a full time job too. but i have to start small for now.
i know some people who want sites now.

I would like to join your web design business. I currently know HTML and CSS, along with PHP and MySQL. I would say I'm a pretty good web designer. I've been designing web templates for about a year or so now. I've never profited off of any though.

I have good knownledge of XHTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript.

Are you going to use some sort of CMS/template engine? Might be useful to mention?

I already have a job in web designing, if y'all ever have a job that you need to do but dont have the time/resources/skill level, let me know and the company I work for would be happy to do some sub-contracted services.

We are a small operation, it is just me and my boss, so we know how tough it can be with deadlines and whatnot.

can you do any graphic designing ? also can you make like your own templates ?

do you think you can?

one of the site i may need to do is a car detailing site do you think you could make some kind of a slide show on the home page. using javascript or flash?

I am able to do graphic designing and those sites that are listed in my previous post are my own templates that I made.

I think I could make a website like http://www.trusteddetailing.com/.

I think I could make a javascript slide show, but I've never tried so I don't know for sure.

Another past project was converting this site: http://heightgrowth.com/ from tables to css.
He was my outcome (with a few changes): http://trileztemplates.hostzi.com/heightgrowth.com/

Something happened to the guy that I did this for and he didn't pay me for it / use it. I don't know why. I lost all contact with him.

I can do anything. That site is pretty basic, I don't know what you mean by slideshow, but slideshows can be done with JavaScript. Or with Flash, but I do now know Flash, for Flash websites you need to get someone else.

I have lots of flash knowledge, made several 3d applications, games and websites. It's so easy, I guess that if you want, you can learn the basics of flash within a day. Enough to make a slide show for a website for sure.

Well yeah I know the basics of Flash :) But not enough to create a full flash website.

What can't you do with flash? I can explain...

/me vomits at the thought of an entire Flash based website.

I don't want to do a full flash site haha just a few things. I want to be able to do CEO on the site and having to much flash makes that hard.

You don't need flash at all to make professional websites.

It's just my website that i'll promote making websites.
eventually i want to give people my business cards with a link to my site and all.
also i can start making sites for people that dont live around my town.

Because if the "business" is making websites, why do you need someone to make your website..?

also i have other things i do like throw dance parties to make money on the side.

im a pretty busy guy. it's kind of why im hiring someone.

im not sure why your so concerned ? im paying someone to develop sites for me thats all there is to it.

Will the person who makes your site also have to make others and get paid partially from what you get? If so, I'm still confus.

So, you want to start a web development business but are too busy to do it yourself, so you need to get someone in who you can give jobs to who you'll pay a margin of the money you make from a job?

If they do the job themselves, why the hell would then only want a little of what the client is paying? They might as well go freelance themselves?!

Guys, wouldn't bother doing this, no offence SKy, but you'll make more money as your own freelancer.

You keep saying this with everything to do with website designing. What you don't get is that SKy, could have a database of people who all want websites done. These are called leeds. People like Frement and TRiLeZ probably don't have many customers therefore they work for people like SKy to get "traffic". Because with your theory, people should just stop working for other people fullstop and make there own business, they will make more money. Yes they will make more money, but possibly less traffic. And I am sure SKy will be giving the majority of the money to the writer.

It's quite hard to get these jobs, from freelancer.com atleast, there are so many people that bid in the projects that you hardly ever get the job.

Thats why I'm interested in this.

Wow you guys explained it for me already, thanks. My family owns lots of Businesses. Some want sites and I know people that's why. It might take a little while but I live by Vegas and I can find work.

Just pointing out that most web design businesses in uk usa and australia are interested in giving experienced web designers who are students holiday work and pay around 30-40 per hour.

im still doing this and i still will pay the person...
