Restarting Scripting Lessons!
For those of you who are new, here is the link to the original(?) scripting lesson thread, started by P1nky: Link

So I am looking to start up a scripting lesson session.

I'll give the requirements, to scare off the lazy people first:

Required
- MSN - Will be used in a group chat for all learners and teachers, etc.
- Up-to-date Simba and SRL/Reflection
- Be willing to learn please, I'm donating my free time for this
Now, if you haven't ditched already, I'll get down to business.

I am willing to donate one (two, three, who knows) hour(s) of my time one day a week, preferably not a Friday. The hours can be decided on later, but must be after 3pm AST (2pm EST) because I am off work at 2:30. I'll gladly teach anyone that wants to learn, but you must be available at the time that myself/any other teachers can agree on.

Just me for the beginning, I will ask for some help if this idea actually picks up.

Teaching Subjects
Anything from the very basics to advanced TPA methods and different types of algorithms. Anything to do with reflection that I can help with.

*Please note that I am not a professional teacher, and wont claim to have any experience in the subject of teaching. If you come with specific questions/topics then I will have an easier time teaching you :)*

As for a starting time, how does tomorrow at 4pm AST (3pm EST) work for everyone? I can modify the time to be later if it doesnt work, but I can't really go any earlier, I'd rather nap.

xD anytime sounds good, learners should be the ones making time to come you anyway, but yeah tomorrow for me that time is good =]

Why not use IRC? :/ MSN is just an inconvenience for group conversations.

Here is the challenge:

Those who attended know what I'm talking about.

First, walk from the red triangle to the green circle, then another function to walk back to the bank.

Second, make a TPA finding function to locate the bankers and open your bank ("Bank Banker" option)

aw Garrett <3 lols tbh i would advice the newcomers who are intrested in scripting to attend the lessons, the ones who are clueless about scripting, check it out tbh you may feel a bond and get hooked on it :) like Phonics!

I'm completely clueless, and I don't like it that way. :P So I would definitely like to attend the lessons. When do they start?
EDIT: Oops! Didn't read the whole thread. Stinks that I missed the first lesson. :\ I'm hoping to be there for the next.

Ill tell ya right now, when I learned TPA's, I wish i was with this guy when I was learning it XD, its much better then most tuts out there, and he provides clearer, more hands-on examples - methods. =] No worries, just put your name in, add him on MSN, and you'll be more then welcome any time for help or a lesson or 2. Im pretty sure hes always there to answer questions on MSN =] just make sure you get your name in for next weeks class.

Okay, here is my thought. I need more organization. Next Thursday is the day. Any time after 4pm AST, noon GMT I believe. But before 8pm AST. Users can pick since almost everyone who showed up didn't show up on time.

Note:
To everyone who was at the last lesson, you all pushed an idea of review (*homework*) and nobody has done it, except heavenguard. It only takes a few minutes, I'm not doing that next time if it's not even worth it..

So I need people to suggest a time that accomodates enough people that I'm not just having a one on one lesson for 30 minutes. I also want opinions on the idea of this:

2 Groups in the lesson. Group 1 starts at the very basics, helpful for people who want to start, as there are a couple people who have decided to start if I give them a helpful push. Group 2 could be an advanced lesson. I've seen lots of SRL Members express interest in learning some new things. I know that a lot of them know either the same amount as me or more, and I wouldn't be a very good teacher for that. If someone more advanced (devs + preferably) would like to teach something advanced at a different time than the beginner lesson (so I could learn too ;)) then we could have an advanced lesson as well as the beginner lesson, which would accommodate a larger audience, while maximize the teaching of the current subject.

So, I don't know if I explained that well, but I'd like some feedback. I need to get organized in advance. I'm removing all the names on the list, except for.. Myhatisblack and Myles, so that I don't sign people up that aren't eager to learn and show up. So just re-post if you wanna be involved again, and you have to offer an opinion on what I just said or I'm not signing you up :p

Sorry about not doing the TPA homework. I ended up making it much more complex and basically made a nice VEM walker and what not. :p I don't think I was really the one who needed to do it but when I have time to post it I will. :) Can't tonight; girly time.
