Meh, Id much rather, like much much much much rather have a chat built into the site, kind of like the facebook one, and shows whoever is online, and be able to chat with anyone

Would get new people more involved quicker in my opinion because they will be able to get quick advice straight away, which is what IRC was for but some new people might not know about the IRC and quite often there aren't even people talking on IRC.

Seriously, just use IRC, plenty of us use it any way, and by using IRC you can join any other server/channel and not just be limited to SRL.
Also, at g0tp0t, I had a thread about SRL group, and I believe a link is in the thread, since the thread however I do not like having my online life and personal life combined, and so I won't be adding anyone from SRL.

IRC is an always a pretty good option. I just don't think that new peoples will get the hang of it or want to go through all the 'trouble' of setting it up.
Yea, some sort of 'embedded' chat would be nice. But is it needed for what the site is? Also, I don't think some of the people would like to get spammed messaged all the time while they are trying to read things on the forum... As a thought with that, maybe a 'chat' page included on the top bar of links would do nicely. That is the only sort of embedded chat that I could see really working out. Some sort of villavu.com/chat ...
