Everyone is saying that picture is fake :(.
Edit:
It's a confirmed fake aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah:fiery::fiery:.
I guess the wait continues...
Or the free trade will not have any major effect on their gameplay..
You are wrong. I totally understand the No-voters, they don't want any more bots and scammers into the game, or they just like the pvp as it is. I personally think that the current pvp system is better than the old wilderness.
The only one sucking at maturity here is you. And we know that it's a fact that botting will majorly increase if the update goes through. Atm people only bot with their mains, but after Free Trade they will make armies of bots just to collect money. The number of bots will explode, especially f2p.
It will not help those legit players who want to mine in the mining guild without having to compete with dozens of bots. That's not "jumping into conclusions" at all. This certainly won't help players in all categories as you say. Also, voting Yes or No has nothing to do with maturity. It's just an opinion of how they like to play their game.
This is a botting site, what do you expect? 99% of people here will vote for free trade & wilderness so why are you calling him immature? That, to me, is immature.
IMO, all that can come from this (possible) update is good. RuneScape was 10x better when it was here, and when they took it away a lot of people quit as an essential part of the game had gone. They've tried fruitlessly to get the same effect, but from what I've seen, they are to no avail. It seems logical from a main business and customer satisfaction point of view to bring it back.
Marpis, i don't know whats the matter with you, but this is the best thing that could happen to us, SRL, Imo.
Anyway, its near 1m Votes :D!
and... my signature says it all :p.
@Marpis, I do not mean it directly. We have our own opinions. But how the No'ers act on the forums, talk sht to us yes'ers, and think RWT'ers coming back and whining about everything, made me say that. RWTers are still here without free trade. Botting, still here without free trade. F2P mining? That stuff is already mobbed. I can barely find myself something good to train on on f2p. Calling me immature for an opinion of mine is stupid, that is my opinion, it's what I think from what I've seen. I can prove we have different opinions, one example, quickmarch, we might have same, we might have different.
@quickmarch, thank you for standing up for me and explaining why I said what I said.
If they can bring back the old RS that would be sweet. I used to play it back in 06', always botted and had acct that was lvl99 in 4 nearly 5 skills. Too bad I forgot digits in that username, I had to start over. so im here, starting over!
I heard about this referendum. This is pretty rad, but the reason I quit RuneScape for good was because of the banishing of the Wilderness and Free Trade. I don't think I'll start playing again just because they bring it back.
You and the no-voters are wrong, they are just scared of having the wilderness becoming dangerous again.
If you get scammed in today's trading system then you deserve to be scammed. The 1st trade screen shows clear exclamation marks if an item is removed/added, and the 2nd trade screen gives you a second chance to see what your trading. Hey if you lose your time to a scammer then you either need glasses or something else to help you.
Botters? A lot of people get membership to PK. When the wilderness removed they straight up lost 60k members. It's not the yes voters fault if the botters come back its Jagex's job. You no voters should complain to Jagex. WoW took severe action against botters, and they have a good MMO going with free trade and a close thing to wilderness where you loose your items.
And yes, you no voters are being pre-mature about this as you guys forgot what Runescape was, how it was made, and how it became one of the best browser MMO before it self-destructed in 07. A year or something ago China banned gold farming and selling gold for real life things. We know that the majority of these botters were Chinese (RSdemon). Jagex also said they've come within a breakthrough a month ago to tackle botters.
But you guys don't really care about scamming and botters, enough with that bull shit. You want the wildy to be open so you can have it easy while killing your green dragons, your kbd, and your corp beast. You want mining runite ore easy, and the agility arena easy. You want your clue rewards easy. While we Pkers risk 1m to kill players (who are also risking 1m) and to find out were getting 50k worth of loot. While we Pkers have to fucking sit in a corner and wait 30 minutes just to get a 25% earned potential and 2 hours to get 100% ep just to see an "improved" drop from the kills we get. We also have to constantly let ourselves die with 100-200k so we can get better drops, because of Jagex's "improved" pvp system (that you think is better than the previous on).
But thankfully that's about to be changed, as were almost at 1million votes and we have a 90% advantage on you. So I can't wait to loot your items when I Ice barrage you while your doing your clue.
Don't think I'm talking about only you, I'm talking about every single no voter.
To get back on topic:
Mod MMG told this dude that they needed 500k more votes (We were at 550k votes when he said this).

THANK YOU King!! ~ Also 99-k votes and rising. Looking good people. When would this end up happening if it did? Obviously the community feels 90% strong about this (which is quite the voting margin). ~ If we are still 500k short, dang... Don't forget to tell your friends to get on and vote for this too!
Haha, it's hilarious how some people really believe that we are 500k short on votes. Of course we are not short on votes. More than that: they will implement the old wildy and free trade 100% sure, they have been working on it and talking about it for months I guarantee you.
There is only 1 reason why they will keep saying "We need x more votes!". It's because people will believe it, and try to get all of their friends to vote. And thus, they are spreading the word that runescape is bringing back free trade and old wildy, probably even to people that haven't played in ages. When you realise this, you know that it is an ingenous marketing strategy, and the best possible way to get a big part of the playerbase that they lost in 2007, back into the game.
good points furyan.
Furyan, good call! <-- That makes sense. ~ I did consider that, but I have to keep in mind that I am thinking about Jagex... And for now I assume that this is all a marketing ploy of somesort and the will not bring back the wildy or freetrade because they don't want to anger that 7%.
@Kingarabian So you were the stranger hanging around my english class. Lol jk, Rep+ my bro.
OMG It's over 1m :)
I got news that its coming a couple of days after the Jan.14 deadline if the no votes don't make a come back. I'll confirm when I'm at home... Fking school blocks everything -.-.
Are you a good friend of a mod or something king?
I completely agree. As it is, the botting community has a far better programmer:leecher ratio, the majority of the people who use the bots here also create them. Bringing back the old form of things will just cause leechers to come along, and that's not the sort of people I enjoy spending time with in a community. For me, this is a programmers/computer enthusiasts forum.
Yes, I'd love the old wilderness back, it brings back that feeling or fear into the game which was needed, but I have no use for an increased trade limit, and the GE currently is a really great way of buying things, what'll happen when the economy issues arise due to the no maximum or minimum?
I can understand why others would want it back, mainly because it does have some benefit to you/your friends, but I think this will just damage the botting community.
I had a feeling when Jagex made the original announcement that it would be coming back regardless; they wouldn't announce a poll for an update of such magnitude if they had no intention of doing it. I agree with Furyan in that it was simply a marketing move to get back as many of the players they lost in '07 as they could. Those who quit back then (myself included) wouldn't keep up with RS news anymore, so Jagex is relying on word of mouth to spread it.
I think they were always going to bring it back, at least since the new CEO took over a year or two ago...I remember seeing an interview with him saying that he wanted to re-introduce it/make it as similar to how it was as possible. So yeah, genius marketing. :p
Do PKers ever come and attack people killing green drags? i was never a member pre-07, so i wouldnt know...
yes RISK, along with armor and om noms.
So, I still think they should keep the completely p2p worlds. I like that as an idea anyhow.
I definitely do too. I think PvP worlds are one of the only two good things to happen to RS since '07 (the idea of the GE being the other, except that imo it was poorly implemented). However, I also want back the plain old wilderness. I'm betting they will have exclusive PvP worlds and the rest will be 'old' Wildy worlds for F2P, and Members will also get 'current' (ie safe) Wildy worlds for clue scrolls and such. But we'll have to wait and see.
This poll is just some sort of publicity scam. Jagex would not have spent 3+ years trying to stamp out gold farmers and botters just to give all that work up at the drop of a hat. Obviously they aren't hurting for members or free players, as the polls indicate, there are a lot of people paying attention here.
My thought is that they will say that the 7% who voted "No" are more important than the 90% who voted "Yes". How they will spin that story is anyone's guess.
Next they will invent 4 or 5 worlds that have unrestricted trade and unrestricted wildy and let people who want that play over there, just like the PVP worlds are now. Or maybe they will just flip-flop everything, the 99 main worlds will have unrestricted trade and wildy and there will still be a couple worlds with revenants and such.
It just seems like if they enact free trade and unrestricted wildy, then everything they have said over the past three years has been a lie: gold farmers, credit card fraud, botting, RWT, etc, etc. I can't imagine that was all some sort of complex lie on Jagex's part.
So if we assume it was true, all those problems will return with a vengeance. So what would happen at that point? The game will be ruined I fear, no matter how this all ends up, but then again, everyone has been saying that for years now, and yet we all just keep playing, don't we?
Here's their explanation for that:can't find the quote i'm looking for but it says they have had a 'breakthrough' in bot detection technology and as soon as they had this 'breakthrough' they rushed out the wilderness vote. Frankly I don't want to be one to call bullshit because I have no idea. Time will tell.Quote:
We’ve been shutting down bot-makers all around the world and prosecuting people for stealing accounts, and we’ve evolved our systems to quickly detect cheating;
Well, if they had this big "breakthrough" then how come they can't catch anyone on this board? (Well, unless the people here get greedy and bot 24/7.) They don't seem to be shutting down much with their awesome new breakthrough. Course, maybe they are saving it for a special occasion and then they will come down on SRL users like a ton of bricks. You are correct. Time will tell.
Color bots are the most difficult bots to detect, as they work the same way as humans do, in terms of finding things/searching/etc. There's really nothing they can do without making huge changes that would affect the game itself so much that it's not worth it.
It is interesting how they completely nerfed pin sellers and then they say this. I think they are only suggesting / proposing this idea because they have pretty much already destroyed people's profits from the game except for account selling and such. But they are making that harder and harder with almost every update, it seems. The most recent one was the email one. There is only one way, if I remember, to remove the email. But I may be incorrect on that.
So I don't think they care anymore. They can easily just track gold sellers, too.
If Jagex sides with 7%, they will lose all there credibility as a company. I guarantee you people will quit.
