Lol, d/w many of the physics teachers in my school are like this. Tbh, if you want to ace your science modules you have to sit down and actually study, buy the CGP science books which are relevant to your course :).
^ I did just so and managed to get A*'s in physics (P1, P2, P3), chemistry (C1, C2, C3) and biology (B1, B2, B3) without re-taking. GCSE is waaay easier than A Level :)
To further help you, I would suggest that you tell us what exam board/physics spec you're doing. Some links would be helpful too :)

EDIT: Also do looots of past papers, I did soo many last year. They really help you get your exam technique right; so you can nail those extra marks!
