and you bring some very good points to the table. and his IP has been the SAME for a month.. these are VERY good points now. it wouldn't take very much intelligence to do what you have stated. i have mixed feelings on it. but the IP thing does sort of lean me toward the fact that it very well could have been him.

Added EDIT that i forgot to say: i hadn't thought of those ideas... faking it would be easy.

I have read all posts on the topic. I was referring to his post when I said "faking a bullshit english problem."

What I said was that IF it wasn't him and the hacker had access to his account, and IF the hacker was posting with the english problem, then it would seem like Nike would get in touch with someone some other way.

As you can see, he hasn't logged on in a very long time, and that is the only IP he has ever used. That seems to point pretty strongly that it was him rather than some 'hacker', unless that hacker registered that account on my forum in 2008, and last logged on in November of 2010.

It seems pretty clear that this was him, and not a hacker. Also, if he was infected, he should be able to trace the infection and figure out who did it. (what IP is his computer connecting to? etc?) Still, it doesn't seem needed here, where it's obvious who did it.

This basically means that Naike's connection was used to steal from these accounts. This rules out keylogging, phishing, etc. The only other possibility left that makes Naike innocent is that someone not only knew all his passwords, but also used his internet connection to do all of this. I don't know Naike at all, but that doesn't seem very probably to me, and he seems guilty as sin.

Pyroryan and I went through some stuff over msn, and turns out that my VNC server could have been used. Would explain a lot, however I have no logs (as I reformatted my computer, as you wished) though, without logs it seems a bit too much as hollywood hacking.

What time (GMT -1) did this occur?
How much did Tara lose?
Why would I pay 15m if I did something wrong?

I'm not saying your guilty, but consider this:
You wan't to remain in the community to continue to benefit from SRL, and possibly become trusted again. If you gave the amount that was stolen back, you'd just look more guilty. If you gave nothing back, you'd still look pretty guilty, considering it was all through your IP address. By "trying" to compensate for a possible hack through your computer, you may come off as less guilty.

Hopefully there's some data in the logs that can prove something. I'm glad the community watches out for one another. :)

The way I see things: All scenarios excluding Naike are highly impropable if not reasonably impossible.

This means -that viewing the evidence- you are guilty.

A 'hacker' would have had to get your IP somehow, get the password for your VNC server somehow, lucked out by only logging onto it while you weren't on the computer (otherwise you would have known), somehow know you use this website and know your username/password on this website, and know where to look for the user/pass for the testing accounts. Also, with as slow as VNC is over any connection, it would have taken a lot of time to clear out that many accounts, so it's lucky you didn't access your computer during this long period of time.

Again, I don't know you, and so I don't have any reason to wish you innocent or guilty. But surely you can see that you look guilty as hell from the outside, almost to the point of without a doubt?

Well my only real defense is the VNC server then, thought that evidence is gone as I did what you guys told me, reformat the computer. I'm still trying to find other possible ways...

I honestly have no idea if this would even get you anywhere, but you could try checking with your ISP on the connection activity at the time of the scam. I don't even know if ISP's keep logs on connection activity, but I believe it may be worth a shot.

For 1 the names of the accounts stolen aren't posted anywhere actually on the SRL forums, only the passwords. However it is possible that the "hacker" could have keylogged you for some time, and used that information to connect through your computer to steal the stuff on the accounts (read: ridiculous). Naike you seem pretty smart.. and know your fair share about computers, how were you keylogged / hacked for so long? Long enough for someone to get every password for everything...?
Why were you talking like you hardly know English in the beginning of the thread.. and then after people started calling you out on it.. bam you have great grammar again?

If someone did indeed "hack" your VNC, do you not look at your computer at all to see someones on it?

Over on jsp, I've seen hundreds of people who have been friends for YEARS, even real life friends and they still steal each others IN GAME items.. and lie for, months.. and months about it never being them.. at the same time they're selling the items in a different thread.
Sorry even if you "didn't" format your computer, I would still be iffy about someone actually taking over your stuff, I've seen ip / chat logs that were faked with over 100 lines of crap for $5 items.

I wouldn't be too surprised if it was from someone who is a member on this forum. As if he wasn't, he wouldn't know anything about the randoms accounts. And doing it from his own account would get him banned...

I'm willing to pay Tara's looted accs, to prove my innocence, I just need to get that kind of GP's first.

No firewall, I'm behind 24mb/s, router(which supports Wireless & Wired), Main computer uses wire, Laptop is wireless(hardly used).

If I steal a million dollars and blame it on an accident, a glitch, someone else gave it to me, or whatever, even if one of those things are true and I'm innocent, I wouldn't be proving my innocence by giving back that million dollars. I would never again be innocent, unless there was full proof that I did not do it.

And on top of that, most innocent people don't just give stuff back if they didn't do anything..

I had two mods tell me to give it back, even though I wanted to be proven innocent first.. (Both I trust and been friends with for years)

He means if you go into your router's menu (cmd -> ipconfig -> get ip address and paste it on your web-browser as http://[iphere]) you will be able to see the forwarded ports of this "hacker" I think.

Also I find it quite strange that Naike is guilty when he gave back 15m, if I had been in his shoes and stooped to that level (steal a bunch of stuff) I wouldn't care about coming back to these forums, or trying to look innocent. But I may be wrong.

That means that you DO NOT run a VNC server like you said you did, since you would have also had to forward a port on your router to that as well, which pretty much means you are a liar. Sorry.

How do you run it on your computer without forwarding the port from the router to your computer? It's not possible. I'm not saying you don't run one, I'm saying it is impossible that you run one that you can access from the internet, without any knowledge of port forwarding. :)
