To the end?
Ever since I was a young child, I have always had problems with seeing things through to the very end. I have often tried to get over it and finally see one thing to the end, take a RuneScape 99 that's not botted for example. I always stop halfway through getting to one and the same goes for any other "Project".
I don't know what it is about me, but I have just never been able to get over this very bad quality I have obtained.
So I was wondering what everyone else does to see things to the end or finish them. Or if someone used to be like me in this way, how did you get over it and finally complete something?
Or should I just go to a psychiatrist or something?
Thank you in advance, truly.

The same thing happens to everyone. It just means you really didn't want what you were trying for. Go for something you actually want and know that it would be something that would fill you with the feeling of success. The 99 fireworks in RS aren't that great.

I feel like I completely understand what you mean and feel like.
I'm sorry to say, but I've yet to find a solution to this "problem" -- rather, I've come to accept it and see the positive side of it: it adds an aspect of constant variation in your life. You get tired of one thing, you switch to another. In some time, you might regain interest for the previous thing again.
Don't blame yourself for it, there's nothing wrong with you.

Well the same thing happens with me but I'm just lazy.

That my friend is what feels like to be human, unlike robots who just do the same boring stuff over and over.

pick a project that is actually fun, engaging, and challenges you. Trying to get a legit 99 is like trying to....well heck, I can't think of anything more boring than grinding to 99 in Runescape...try something less boring and tedious, haha.

I want to (respectfully) disagree with what has been said.
In life if you want to go far, you need to have the discipline to keep things up. Obviously things like runescape goals aren't important, but constantly making real life goals, and then failing to live up to them, can be a real problem.
The more you make goals and fail to complete them, the more likely it is that future goals will fail. You see, your mind becomes used to setting goals with no real intention of keeping them - your 'self-efficacy' drops and as a result, so does your discipline.
The good news is that you can break the cycle.
You need to accept that goals are hard to keep, and realise what has been happening in your mind up till now. You then need to make a conscious decision to live up to your next goal. Choose wisely, but choose something fairly easy to start with.
When you achieve that, choose something slightly harder, and repeat... that will break the cycle that your mind has fallen into.
Some other hints are:
1. Make sure you set aside small, achievable goals, on the way to your main goal... i.e. break it up into manageable steps.
2. Get some people to keep you accountable. Very few people have the self discipline to carry things through without encouragement (its possible, but harder).
3. From the start, accept that there will be times you DON'T want to keep going. Make the decision right then that in these times you will do it, even if you don't want to.
Well, that's about all I can remember from psych. Hope it's helpful for you - I know it helped me heaps - I used to be just like you!
